Get hype!

Sony loves firmware. It loves firmware so damn much. Truth is, the company only keeps churning out new machinery as a vehicle to bestow the wondrous salvation that is firmware upon the earth. And with the PlayStation 4 nearly upon us, at long last it's finally time to bathe the unwashed masses in the ecstatic pleasures of cross-platform firmware with PlayStation Vita system update 3.00. Greatness truly awaits.

The update features thrilling new additions including: exciting new parental controls, the ability to take panoramic photos, an improved friends list experience, cross-platform chat with PS4, and more more.

Most notably, the downloadable sensation includes the PS4 Link app, which allows players to use the PS Vita to remotely control that sexy new console and play a wide swath of next-gen content on that glorious little screen. Also, PS4 titles that vaunt second screen features will also allow folks to use it as a second screen to do things that second screens do.

The future is here my friends and it is firmware.
