PS Vita firmware 1.69 allegedly breaking Escape Plan demo
If you downloaded PS Vita firmware 1.69, which released this week, and tried to play the Escape Plan demo, you may find it's not working. That is what folks are reporting on the EU and US PlayStation boards, anyway. This seems to be par for the course with firmware upgrades, where one regularly comes along to mess something up. This is a fairly benign example by all accounts, but just in case you've been trying to play the demo and can't, this might be the reason. You'll have to hang back and wait for Sony to fix it. Firmware is videogames, guys. Firmware is so videogames. [Thanks, Nick!] Did you know? You can now get daily or weekly email notifications when humans reply to your comments.
Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)Well, I'm sure it'll be fixed, but then again it's kind of a non issue, it's messing up a four month old demo, but not the actual game. Kind of a reach. Yeah, I downloaded the demo last night and then downloaded the patch.
In addition to it causing the Escape Plan demo to not work, it also caused my system to freeze a few times Yep, this happened to me as well. Having bought the Vita last night, I wanted to try this game out. I thought it was a PSN error or something. It's good to know what was the cause. I didn't even know this HAD a demo until Tuesday, so I got it yesterday aaaand it doesn't work. As long as I can't play it I'm not about to buy the full game. I've never seen the demo on the Vita PSN. Guess I'll look around for it tonight since I haven't updated to the latest Firmware. ...but did more psp tittles get unlocked?! i got my Killzone Liberation...now i need my Coded Arms, DJ Max Fever, and Grand Theft Auto LCS... The last update started giving me the blue light problem. So I restored it through the recovery menu. No luck. Now it's in an eternal recovery loop. Had to send it back to Sony. Right when gravity rush came out. Sony hates me. The game was well worth the money and the DLC has done nothing but solidify that. The Demo on the other hand is a non-issue. This is an entirely new system in it's infancy it's going to have issues. Call me when this is still happening 3-4 years into the life of the system.. Don't worry, when you get to the level where you have to "experiment with different levels of inflation" you'll see it's already broken. 8:00 AM on 05.17.2013 Wii U owners don't know how to play Super MetroidIf you're a jaded hardcore gamer, and if you've ever complained that the new generation of "dumbed down" console gamers are the bane of life, prepare to feel justified.
