G4 recently travelled to Activision HQ to play Prototype and came back with fresh and hot video (viewable after the break) from the game. It might not make you come rainbows, but it's damn sexy nonetheless.
The footage only has a sliver of coherent story. It starts with a scene where Alex -- the hooded protagonist -- is told that a chick at GenTek knows something about his history. Then it abruptly cuts to action shots of Alex running around New York City like a madman, battling army dudes and weird creepy crawlies.
It ends with an epic battle scene where you’ll observe some badass Wolverine action and witness Alex’s ability to eat bullets. It's thrilling stuff and I can’t wait to get my hands on Prototypethis June. How about you guys?
Sure it doesn't look very good, but as long as it runs well and it's glitch free, I could care less. I'm really excited for this, damn just running around the city looks awesome. I hope the game doesn't drop so many curse words just for the sake of dropping them, and the story doesn't pitter-patter around to much, anyways, regardless, this looks like a great action game.
Also, what's with all the infamous comparisons? not right in this article nesevarily, but gamers seem to be strapping these two games to the same pole all the time. The only similarities are the super-hero aspects and open-world design, besides that, they are on oppsite spectrums.
i liked the little things like how his hoodie reacts and flows in the wind when he`s running or jumping. Also how the clouds of dust show up when he`s running though the street.
I'm liking that huge Crysis-y ability switcher. This game looks really fun, but I think I'll have to wait for reviews on this. Something about this reminds me of Mercenaries 2, and while that was a great game while it lasted, the bugs were way too many.
how is infamous and prototype on opposite sides of the spectrums. It is harder to think of differences than it is to think of similarities. Two third person superhero in a city games with free running and car throwing. What substantial difference makes them difference?
still extremely excited about this title, just hope the dialogue/voice acting/charaterisation is handled as well as all the other game elements obviously are.
Initially i threw this and infamous into the same boat named 'gta with frills' but the more i watch, the more i want them both and for very different reasons.
Its like drawing thematic comparisons between crackdown and assassin's creed. Granted, there are mechanics that are similar, but the experience will be wholly different.
I agree with the targeting issues. The targeting focused briefly on the truck and not the monster. Hopefully, though this is something easy to correct. Game looks good I think I'll preorder it.
I don't know...the gameplay makes me weirdly think of Spider-man, wich appart from the surprise Spider-man 2, isn't a nice vibe. I really hope it will be good though :p
The running seems fast placed. But the combat seems rather repetitive. I'm sure that's something that will change once you acquire more and more powers. I hope the targeting issues get fixed. It's one thing to switch targets around you (at least you're killing a enemy no matter what), it's another in my opinion to switch to a target behind a solid object (I say this because it seems like the lines around the target adjust to the targets size, so the lines were too small to be targeting the truck. Was most likely either a soldier behind that truck or some object).
After seeing this video, I went from excited for the game to cautious about the game. I'm not sure if that's the affect this video had on anyone else. But one would think they would have checked the video for any flaws such as targeting issues before releasing it.
Everyones a critic now a days. Remember when games were just cool and fucking awesome and no one gave a shit about every minor detail? Ya... those were the days.
This is one heck of a game but I still like Infamous cause I can electrify people and slide on cables and railway tracks!

I still have the urge to play it. Just a shame June is still a little ways away.
I would myself, but it's easier to part with 50 bones, instead of 120 these days.
This game is so mine, I feel like I'm almost done with the first mission. :D

Anyway, love the video. The game looks FAST. I can see myself spending a lot of time running around instead of doing actual objectives.
As for the girl who is like him, you can't go wrong with a woman counterpart.

just a thought?

If their smart, all of them. Even though it really doesn't matter I'm 24, but I did have the same thought.
That and inFamous, I can't wait for may-june :)
Basically, friggin' awesome.
Looks a lot like that, but more polished and fleshed out. I can't wait.

But overuse of F-Bombs makes baby Jesus cry.
