For the most part, we liked Prototype. I would -- and did -- encourage you to run out and buy it. But I'm sure some of you were still on the fence, unable to see how Prototype was blatantly better than other, third-person games featuring superpowered protagonists.
Well, perhaps Amazon can sway you towards the path of reason today. They have the title slashed by twenty dollars across all platforms. In other words, it's $40 for either the PS3 or 360 versions, while PC users can snag it for $30. In the drought of summer, this is a good deal on something you may have foolishly chosen to skip.
I would recommend that you go pick up a copy.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Same here. The second I got the arm blade/body armor I just... lost interest. Not because of the powers, per se, but because it dawned on me that I did not care about anything that was happening in the game.
InFamous on the other hand...
I'll give you that the plot is kind of lame, but I like the web of intrigue clips, and I have a great time just running through the city aimlessly.
But maybe I like the free running/gliding so much because I work in the city and often wish that I could do the same to escape the mobs of people on the streets.
The freeroam is fun, I'll give you that. I haven't touched the game in awhile, though. Once I had most of the powers, I sort of crested in my excitement. Kind of like how I didn't beat Grand Theft Auto 3 until about three years after it was released. Blown away by the freedom, completely uninterested in the plot with no desire to further it.
