I'm a little confused by the title.. Day one or one day? Is something coming to MW3 that day they're protesting its day oneness so they can (try to) get these changes?
I'm going to dust off my copy and play all day just to spite these man babies. I might even reach level 20! How exciting!

Change would be nice, but you think they'd expect it after so many CoD games with little to no real post-release support. I stopped buying them awhile ago
HAHA. You expect the CoD community, one of the laziest in the world, to actually do this? You'll have 10's of thousands of people saying they'll boycott it and when April 20th hits there will be all of about 100 people out of those 10's of thousands that actually do it.

Jeez, I thought all of these "complaints" were actually just features of CoD. If you want some kind of balanced, clean competitive battlefield, go play Counterstrike 1.6 or something.
I just play MW3 for fun. The only thing that I hate (that will never be fixed) is the lack of teamwork, rage quitters and stacked teams. I'm actually thinking of going back to playing Black Ops, since it has better maps, more balanced weapons and generally is a better MP experience.

Wait. People are complaining at the lack of DLC? That's gotta be a first. Although I can see where they're coming from if they paid for Elite.
I don't know where the internet got this idea that protesting for one day does anything from. Not buying games for a day doesn't do anything, not buying gas for a day doesn't do anything, and not playing MW3 for one day won't do anything. This protest is particularly ineffective since to be able to participate you need to have already given your money to Activision. It's bad form to ignore customers flailing their arms but gamers in particular are exceptionally ineffective at restraining themselves from punishing bad behaviour by publishers. MW2 fell into glitchy exploit disarray and everyone rushed out to buy Black Ops and MW3 when they launched. Unless people demonstrate that they won't give companies their money for letting their products fall apart then they can just keep doing whatever they want.
Why would Activision care about a 24 hour blackout when a lack of online players represents zero loss of profit for them? There are no subscription fees or access charges for MW3 servers. The only thing you're doing is giving their server admins a day off. Morons.

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if the cod kids were just slow. Weren't these games always fulled with bugs and really not balanced? Why bring it up now?Activision already has the money, they're not required to balance things, hell we pretty much take balance for granted anyway. this clearly won't accomplish anything but showing how the gaming community can be a bunch of self entitled brats.

With all the money they are getting from the game sales and the premium elite subscriptions you'd think that they'd want to put a bit more effort than the norm into making their game better.
That's the main difference between blizzard quality developers and those that care less about their fans than the money they make.

My only problems with MW3 are the spawns and the akimbo machine pistols. The spawns are by far the worst though. Countless times I've been spawned behind or killed someone who spawned right in front of me. It's like a monkey wrote the spawning requisites.
Regardless, this protest will do nothing. MW3 has over 600,000 people playing team deathmatch nightly. Even if they get 50,000 people, or even 100,000, to agree to this protest, it will mean nothing to Activision.

Eh, I just play mw2 still. 3 is great for survivor and spec ops, but I do those local. 2s mp is still my fav map-wise
If they want to protest, do it more than a single day. Do it for a week at least - get it to drop MW3 from the 'Most Played on XBL' list that MajorNelson publishes each week. That would at least be measurable. One day? No one cares.

Meh... I have no issues with the game. It's much, much, much better than most of the other shooter games out there. The only thing I find annoying is the server host migrations... one would think that with the money they make on this cash cow, that they could spring for dedicated servers instead of peer to peer.
Don't worry, guys, they'll patch it soon! The patch will be called Modern Warfare 4 it will cost $60.

Maybe there are legit concerns there, but since this franchise is so notoriously formulaic, most of them were probably aired before and successfully disregarded by the devs and/or publisher. That MW2 boycott was a joke, how is this different?
These boycotts accomplish fuck-all, because in the end the vast majority who play CoD are children who don't give two fucks about this kind of shit and just wanna get their next AC-130 or whatever fucking whackamole killstreak they crammed there now. You want to send a fucking message? Set Activision HQ on fire, assassinate Kotick, kidnap and tortule Robert Bowling (I know he quit, but just for the lulz)...
