A few days ago, hot new footage dropped that claimed to be gameplay footage for Beyond Good & Evil 2. Jaws dropped, tongues rolled and eyes widened at the beautiful footage, although some remained skeptical that the high-octane chase sequence was fake, or at the very least, unrelated to BG&E 2.
Well, we at Destructoid have discovered in-game commands for the video that not only proves this is definitely an official Ubisoft product, but also tells us exactly how the incredible chase sequence will be played. As you'll see from the video, BG&E2 will follow Ubisoft's current commitment to providing simplified gameplay that looks amazing. If you loved Assassin's Creed or Prince of Persia, it's looking like you'll adore Beyond Good & Evil 2.
Hit the jump for the footage. Looking at the in-game command prompts, I think you'll agree that this is an Ubisoft game through and through.

I guess the joke is that this is the company that made Assassin's Creed? And that game had a simple, automated control scheme? So, Beyond Good and Evil might play the same way?
Ha ha?

Unfortunately, A button presses will probably skip that entire cinematic in the game. I find it hard to believe that that is real gameplay footage. Too smooth. Too much interior detail.
Ubisoft is evolving games. More and more cinematic, until you don't even realize you're playing a game! So fluid and intuitive... If only the prompts were more subtle. And do we really need to "walk into wall"?
Well I'm sure that this new mechanic will be polished to perfection before it's out. Looking forward to it, Ubisoft!
What I think you are all missing is that this isn't a jab at Assassin's Creed more than it is a jab at the new Prince of Persia.
I loved to watch Prince of Persia while periodically hitting a button. It was like watching the TV and finding that every channel has the same thing on!
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Ha ha?
Well they had to make it more 'mainstream'
I hear they will be realising DLC for 400MS Points called 'No More Sore Thumbs'. It will press A for you.
The next level will probably be only 800 Microsoft Points.
Because I might just have to say 'Oh Snap'.

Oh well, at least E3 is coming up.

Please, do more, many, many more. :)
