Though I'd be more sour if Morrigan Aensland from Darkstalkers and Klonoa from Namco Bandai was in this game... Preferably as a team :P
Fun fact: Banpresto also makes the Super robot wars series, which takes various giant robot shows, compresses them together, and makes them into a strategy game.
In short,they have experience with massive crossover strategy games. Unfortunately, they also don't have a great track record of their games getting localized...
Smells like Monolith Soft to me. If it is, day 1 import.
Or maybe you do since I'm pretty sure the rest of you are as hard up for it as I am, but whatevs. The point is I yearn, you yearn, we all yearn for massive cross-over games.
@ Bruce Walker;
You, your classmate and your classmate's sister-in-law can bugger off.
Every Namco "Cross" title has been made by Banpresto and been and Strategy RPG because the Super Robot Taisen team makes them and that's what they make. They do not make fighting games.
And really, we have MVC for fighting already. Not every crossover has to be a fighter.
Heh, I'm not asking why it's not a fighting game. How is it actually not a fighting game? It just looks like a fighting game to me from the video. Where are the RPG and strategy elements? I'm asking as a noob who has not played any Namco cross games, I'm not being a smartarse.
Then again, I'll need a japanese 3DS to play this cos there's no way it's going to get localised!!
Damn region lock...
The battle system in the video looks to be an extension of the one seen in the endless frontier games, which means that when your unit attacks an enemy, you control when they start their attacks with a button press. That way, you can combo in other characters by timing your second attack to begin when the first has ended. not bad, but not as involving as the battle system in Namco X Capcom (but I doubt the stages will extend to the 4 hr marathon battle at the end of NxC)
The enemy also stays stationary throughout the attack sequence (though there will probably be systems in place to cut your attack short or something) so it would make for a very boring fighting game when your opponent is basically a dummy for most of the sequence.
