Project Origin shaping up to be a big ol' gorefest photo

So you liked F.E.A.R., but you would have liked less scares and more flying guts? You're about to get happy in a way you should probably enjoy in the privacy of your own home (translation: where people cannot see you), because some new screenshots from the upcoming sequel Project Origin have surfaced, and there are copious amounts of blood flying about (although if you're hoping for Ichi The Killer-level gore, I'm afraid we aren't quite there yet.)

CVG has all the new screens, which definitely make me more excited about the game (which was actually named as part of the "Name Your Fear" contest that Monolith Productions held back in 1997.) Apparently, Monolith also recently sent a care package to Kotaku that contained diapers as a part of their campaign for the game to keep gamers from soiling themselves.  If our own Editor-in-Chief received this thoughtful gift, he chose not to mention it to the staff, which makes me wonder what kind of home life he has.

[Thanks Adam!]

Jokes on them as I already wear diapers...HAhahahaha...*sigh*

FEAR was fun but was not as "scary" as I had hoped and I would rather have more scare than gibblets.

just have a game where you are in a dark room and randomly people shout "BOO" at you and I'm scared.

I'm actually opposed to gore just for the sake of gore. I hope it's used wisely rather than just for the heck of it.

Loki, I'm the complete opposite. I wish games had gore to to have it in there. Gore adds to the "whoa" effect in shooters.

FEAR was not scary in the least, maybe this one will make up for it. I enjoy being creeped out by a game!

Off topic..
Ideally, when I want to play a survival horror, or any kind of scary game, I'll wait until after 2 am, and turn off all the lights, and set the house temperature to < 70 degrees.

(I think the chill adds a certain additional element to games like Fatal Frame and Siren.)

Yesssss bring on the FEAR content!! I love these games, but given a choice I'd rather have the scary shizzle happen more than just bloody shizzle. But then again if the bloody shizzle is kinda scary all by itself it works out then doesn't it? The semi-slo-mo ghost action parts are awesome and freaky.

I just realized how awesome it would be if instead of the optional VATS action point system they are going to use in FO3 they used the FEAR-inspired slo-mo system...hmm they will probably be slightly similar anyway, nm.
