Techland has revealed it is working on a new game currently titled Project Hell. Based on a Dead Island mod, this spin-off title will give us first-person brutalizing in a medieval setting.
The game has been spun off from a weapon mod created by one of Techland's own developers, bringing two-handed swords and ice magic to the world of tropical zombies. It was deemed too much fun to leave as a mod, so now a small team is crafting an official title.
"Our main goal is to make a game we can all enjoy playing so don’t expect unicorns and fairies -- we prefer breaking through hordes of undead minions only to slaughter their devilish and loathsome masters in a bloody boss-fight," writes the official dev blog. "To achieve that we’ll use our experience already gained in game development and enhanced technology from Dead Island."
Sounds interesting! We could always use more ice spells in our zombie slashing games.

My initial impression of Undead Labs' State of Decay was not exactly forgiving. Significant screen-tearing, a choppy frame rate, an intro that places me directly into button mashing combat without context, the game's lurch of...
