Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition

03-24-2011

Ladies and gentlemen, here's to Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition, the first million-selling title on the 3DS! This doesn't come as much of a surprise, though. It's easily the best of the available launch titles and should ...

Super Smash Bros.

10-02-2014

Super Smash Bros. had some issues at launch with people getting banned for using certain characters, and with the debut of the Mewtwo DLC came another problem. The glitch lied in playing Mewtwo offline, which led the game to ...

Super Mario 3D Land

11-09-2011

Having finally gotten a Wii U, my goal this week has been to play Super Mario 3D World and at least try not to burn through it too quickly. It's tough, though, with the promise of something new pushing me to continually do "j...

Super Little Acorns 3D Turbo

Sometimes, the simplest ideas work best.Where as most games try to throw over zealous plot devices your way, multiple control schemes, and graphics so detailed your eyes will bleed, some developers realize that less is more. ...

Steel Empire

08-05-2014

Steel Empire is a game that not many people were able to experience, sadly. As a child, you likely only had access to either a Super Nintendo or Sega Genesis, which cut out a ton of potential classics for you to play and cher...

Steel Diver: Sub Wars

02-24-2014

Steel Diver was ultimately a semi-bland experience for me, but it was a great grasp of the free-to-play market by Nintendo, as they showed that they can do it better than publishers who have been exploiting it for years. They...

SteamWorld Dig

SteamWorld Dig is worth investigating if you enjoy the super-fun drilling action of Mr. Driller but stink at the game or otherwise get overwhelmed before long. Image & Form is bringing its robotic Western adventure to yet...

Star Fox 64 3D

09-09-2011

Those who bought a Nintendo 3DS may wonder why their system -- which perfectly allows for online gaming -- hasn't got any online games. Crucially, they may wonder why a multiplayer-focused release like Star Fox 64 3...

Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir

04-13-2012

In theory, the idea behind Spirit Camera is brilliant. Exploiting the 3DS' augmented reality features to turn players into ghost hunters is a marvelous undertaking. I love the thought of scurrying around the house, pretending...

Sonic Generations

01-04-2012

Full disclosure: before playing Sonic Generations (3DS) for review, I had never finished a Sonic game. I bought all the collections and rented or bought used copies of all the Wii titles because I love the series in theory. S...

Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal

11-21-2014

While Sonic Boom on the Wii U has its issues, there are also some redeeming qualities. Co-op is enjoyable, the platforming is pretty fun, and the 2D sections aren't bad. With a few more months in the oven and more polish, it could have ultimately been a decent Sonic title. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for the 3DS version of Sonic Boom. There's almost nothing redeeming about it.

Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure

10-17-2011

We are so used to waiting insufferably long periods of time for Japanese games to be localized and brought out West that we often imagine Japan as this floating island of privilege and good fortune. How easily do we forget th...

Shinobi

01-24-2012

It has been nearly 10 years since we were last put into the sandals of an Oboro Clan shinobi, the last game of which was well received despite (or perhaps because of) its high difficulty. Though it brought the series into the...

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers

04-16-2013

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers is a game with a name hard to squeeze into a headline. It also released for the 3DS in April in the United States (August 2012 in Japan). It will finally be released in Europe ...

Surprise! WayForward is bringing Shantae and the Pirate's Curse to Steam on April 24, 2015. Having failed to nab the well-received game twice now -- first on 3DS, and then again on Wii U -- perhaps Steam will make all the dif...

Fans of rip-your-clothes-off-while-fighting-to-the-death Senran Kagura Burst should be tickled pink, as the popular ninja girl beat-'em-up is receiving an anime series courtesy of FUNimation. Tamsoft's side-scrolling saga wa...

Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure

10-05-2013

When they announced that the next Scribblenauts game would include characters and settings from the DC Comics Universe, I was excited. That's a lot of history to pull from, and with Scribblenauts' reputation of including tons...

Samurai Warriors: Chronicles

04-02-2011

Where there is a new system, there is a new Warriors game waiting in the wings. Tecmo Koei has gotten in early this time, ready for the 3DS' launch with Samurai Warriors Chronicles, yet another button-bashing foray into the world of medieval Japan.  Maybe Tecmo Koei rushed in a little too early this time.

Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword

02-12-2012

It's always a pleasant surprise to go into a game with little to no expectations beforehand and come out of it with a completely positive opinion. Such was the case with the recent downloadable title Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword. The game wasn't even really on my radar, but after playing it, I realized I should be paying more attention to Nintendo's eShop library.
