Bayonetta has arrived once again on PlayStation Network, this time as a downloadable playable character for Anarchy Reigns. After enjoying months of exclusivity as a GameStop pre-order bonus, the Umbra Witch is now freel...

And Yet It Moves

09-12-2010

If you haven't already heard, the third Humble Indie Bundle is here. Starting now, if you purchase the bundle, you will get a pass to play Minecraft for free until August 14th. Pretty cool stuff. For the three people that sti...

Angry Birds Star Wars II

09-20-2013

I don't get the widespread outrage over so called "casual," simple-minded games. I can spend an afternoon plugging away at the most time-consuming and complex RPG imaginable, and if Angry Birds is thrown in every now and then, so be it. Yes, I'm reviewing an Angry Birds game. Deal with it.

Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures

09-26-2013

Back in 2013, Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures was released for the PC. It was received fairly well, and within the next year plans for a Wii U and 3DS version were announced. Unfortunately, they still haven't seen the l...

Animal Crossing: New Leaf

06-04-2013

I always love a good Laura Shigihara piano/vocal piece. Though she is probably best known for the iconic credits song from Plants vs. Zombies, these days when her name comes up I mostly think about To the Moon's haunting "Ev...

Anna

08-03-2012

I enjoy point-and-click horror games very much. They've been an obsession of mine for a few years, drawing upon my nostalgia for my first PC love, Myst, and my attraction to suspense and intrigue. I love miring through the in...

Anno 2070

11-20-2011

Anno 2070 took the popular strategy franchise in a surprising new direction and succeeded in offering fans something fresh but familiar. Now you can continue building your empire with some new DLC. Eden Project comes with a n...

Anno Online

07-16-2013

Ubisoft and free-to-play -- words that are enough to make a great deal of people turn around and walk the other way immediately. Yep, Anno Online is Ubisoft's newest foray into the world of free-to-play, taking a storied, dee...

Anodyne

05-03-2013

Anodyne is a cool little top-down dungeon crawler with an obvious problem: it isn’t Zelda. Though I would normally feel like a jerk criticizing a small indie title for not stacking up to Nintendo’s legendary series, the game itself forces the comparison, lifting not just the basic gameplay elements of the classic 2D Zelda games, but also various art cues and enemy designs.

Anomaly 2

05-15-2013

Don’t let the screenshots fool you: This isn’t the game you think it is. The first Anomaly was an unexpected sleeper hit that found a successful formula on flipping tower defense on its head by putting the playe...

Anomaly Warzone Earth

04-06-2012

Anomaly Warzone Earth, the rather clever "tower-offense" game, has been slowly making the platform rounds, first releasing on PC in 2011 followed by an Xbox Live Arcade version back in April. Now, 11 bit studios has announce...

Anomaly: Warzone Earth

04-11-2011

PlayStation Plus subscribers are getting Anomaly: Warzone Earth for free this week! It's described as a action strategy tower offense game, which is kind of hard to imagine so good thing there's a trailer. Actually, even bas...

Another World - 20th Anniversary

09-27-2011

Has it really been 20 years since I first played Another World as a mere child, tried to understand what I was supposed to do, failed, and never got beyond the first section? Apparently it has. Eric Chahi's masterpiece was re-released before as Another World - 15th Anniversary Edition, and this iOS version takes the graphical upgrades and adds touch controls, which actually work surprisingly well.

Anthill: Tactical Trail Defense

12-13-2011

It’s a bug-eat-bug world out there and victory tastes like... dead insect carcasses. This iOS game is an energetic combination of strategy defense and resource management. Unlike many mobile games that have been released recently, it will keep you entertained and addicted for a while, making the most out of your dollar.

Antichamber

01-31-2013

One of the most striking things about Antichamber is how the sound design makes the world feel bigger and more lush than it really is. The sounds and visuals create a hypnotic world that fills the imagination. And now, Antich...

Antipole

08-03-2011

It's been a while since we've heard anything about the Antipole franchise, a game that originally launched in 2011 on the DSi. It's about to get a whole lot more relevant though, since developer Saturnine Games is bringi...

Apotheon

02-03-2015

Apotheon is the newest game from the developers at Alientrap, the team behind a small game called Capsized. Now personally, I loved Capsized and think it was overlooked by most. It had interesting mechanics and...

Aquapazza: Aquaplus Dream Match

11-20-2013

When this past generation began, fighting games seemed to be on their last legs. Capcom fighters were nowhere in sight, Sega’s Virtua Fighter laid hidden in the deepest of digital fight clubs, and Namco’s Tekken a...

Ar tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel

04-11-2011

Few gamers expected Ar Tonelico III to arrive on North American PlayStation 3s after it was released early last year. The first game's quirky, thoroughly Japanese atmosphere earned it a cult following, but an embarrassingly b...

Armillo

07-02-2014

After following a number of indie developers who decide to go with the Wii U or 3DS eShop, I'm noticing a lot of the same sentiments in regards to loyalty to Nintendo. Not only have some of these developers grown up with Nint...

Armored Core V

03-26-2012

There are many theories on why mech games died out. The question I have is "why are they coming back now?" Perhaps these two issues are tied closer together than some may think. It’s a matter of innovation, I believe. ...

Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel

03-28-2013

Army of Two has never been an especially bad series, it's just never been an especially good one. Providing simplified cooperative shooting action, as dumb and dirty as can be, the series has clearly found a fanbase for its p...

Ash

12-17-2010

A lot of high profile iOS games have been flooding the market recently, and while we'd love to review them all, many of them slip through the cracks. We'd also love to give each game its own dedicated review, but the nature o...

Asphalt Injection

Just as I was settling in to start typing this review, I had to reach for the case while muttering, "What is this one even called?" Such is the existence of the Asphalt series, a racing game so indistinct that you could play ...
