Of all of the games to get a PS4 remake, you'd probably never put Putty Squad, an SNES game from 1994, at the top of the list. But here we are in 2014 with a full-on re-imagining, with more or less the same platforming mechanics that still work nearly 20 years later. The only problem is, System 3 Software has opted to charge $29.99 for a decidedly dated game -- which is a bit of a problem.

Some of you may not know that they're making a Puss in Boots movie, and a coinciding video game will release alongside it. THQ has announced that they're working on the licensed title, and it will be a motion-controlled title...

Even though I wasn’t optimistic about the prospect, I wanted to put my best foot forward. With a cheery tone to my voice, I affirmed the stranger’s request to play Project Totem cooperatively with me. The entire m...

Since Microsoft seemingly refuses to do anything in the way of a new fully-realized Conker, fans have to settle for whatever they can make in Project Spark. Given an asset pack to work with, a lot of these creators made fair...

Rejoice, soccer fans! Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 will be out on September 24 in North, Central, and South America. I'm not one for sports games typically, but I do want to see how PES 2014 performs thanks to it being the first...

"Football is a simple game; 22 men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end, the Germans win." So quipped Gary Lineker, an English international, after losing to West Germany in the 1990 World Cup. As in life, so in art: Pr...

We’ve all died at some point. Hit by a brown sedan while crossing the street, shot in the face by a drug dealer with bad skin, fell into a lava pit, crushed by a rampaging wild horse, vital organs consumed by a skinless...

For months, rumors have been floating around the web regarding the status of Human Head's upcoming shooter, Prey 2. Despite a relatively strong showing at E3 2011, the title remained in development hell, plagued with del...

There wasn't much build up leading to the release of TopWare Interactive's latest explosive game, Pressure. It's bouncing around on Steam right now, but it can't be contained there; it's coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 ...

Like many, I have had my share of superhero fantasies. It seems like a lot of effort to try and save the world, however, and I have been more than happy to enjoy the fantasy through my gaming experiences. Ubisoft's Power...

Despite the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise being run into the ground, 17th-century pirates are still really cool. Not those Somalian, modern-day pirates -- those guys suck. But if plundering the seas is the thin...

I'm really glad that Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is still chugging along with free DLC. It's a truly great shooter that was pretty risky for a developer like PopCap, but since EA keeps greenlighting new content i...

I keep forgetting about EA Access. Perhaps you can say the same. It's a $4.99-per-month service for Xbox One that gives unlimited access to select games from you-know-who along with other perks like early demos. One of my fav...

Independent music enthusiasts (and especially those who follow game music) are pretty familiar with Bandcamp as a platform to get affordable music while giving the creators a greater cut than through traditional means. Perhap...

If you're looking for a reason to see the bright side about using Origin, you can pick up Plants vs. Zombies: Game of the Year Edition there currently for the low, low price of free. I realize that doesn't exactly make up for...

With Marvel, Star Wars, and The Walking Dead under their belts, there's no license too big for Zen Studios to take on at this point. This time around, Zen has teamed up with Comedy Central and put together two new tables themed after none other than South Park. I wasn't sure what to expect, but should have known the tables would be phenomenal.

Outside the dedicated and nebulously legal emulation scene, PC hasn't received much virtual pinball love lately despite being its birthplace. Zen Studios is changing this by bringing Pinball FX 2 to Steam on May 10. The titl...

WaterMelon's homebrew project Pier Solar and the Great Architects pushed the Sega Genesis to its limits as a new release in 2010 (!) which I thought was courageous, at the time. Still do. The game shipped on an actual cartrid...

Might & Delight's puzzle-platformer Pid seemed to go under the radar, despite being a game worthy of attention. Here's hoping, then, that a fair amount of free downloadable content can give the title a nice boost. On PC ...

Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds was a decently enjoyable sidescrolling beat-'em-up released on Xbox Live Arcade early last year. It's now coming to PS Vita, where it will hopefully gain more visibility, on July 29, 2014. Goo...
