Of all of the games to get a PS4 remake, you'd probably never put Putty Squad, an SNES game from 1994, at the top of the list. But here we are in 2014 with a full-on re-imagining, with more or less the same platforming mechanics that still work nearly 20 years later. The only problem is, System 3 Software has opted to charge $29.99 for a decidedly dated game -- which is a bit of a problem.

Good news, everyone! Some time ago, the European gaming community was up in arms because Nintendo gave them an inferior version of Balloon Fight on the Wii U Virtual Console. It appears as if Nintendo was listening, as F-Zero...

The story of Puddle is a tale of triumph. A group of students had the opportunity to have their game published by Konami after winning a 2010 GDC Independent Games Festival award -- pretty much every young developer's dream. ...

There were a couple of things that made the now-disbanded Clover Studio a special team. From God Hand to Viewtiful Joe to Okami, each of their games took a uniquely Japanese idea (apocalypse-the...

Pokemon is such a strong franchise that even most of the spin-offs can stand on their own. The core generational releases are among my favorite RPGs, but the Game Boy Color Trading Card Game, the Mystery Dungeon series, and Pokemon Snap are some of the most enjoyable games I've ever played due to the amount of care that goes into them. Then there's the Pokemon Rumble series.

Pokemon Rumble U dropped last week on the Wii U eShop, and surprisingly, it's the first game that features the integration of NFC (Near field communication) technology on the Wii U. It's a feature that's been there since...

It's not the Olimar-centric story missions of my dreams, but Nintendo putting out downloadable content for Pikmin 3 is still something I can support. The game's latest DLC pack -- more "Battle Enemies!" missions -- is out as ...

Coming to PS3, 360, Wii U, and 3DS this fall, a sequel to "an emotionless venture that's devoid of any soul or effort." I guess Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures, which is based on the new Pac-Man television series, did well enough to warrant a sequel.
