Adventure Time is a great cartoon show, one that makes having a child a lot more fun than it would be if all I had to listen to was the screeching of Fairly Odd Parents every single day. Tapping very much into the Internet ge...

If you want to make it to the top of the iPhone App Store, it seems that the more birds your game has, the better it will sell. That is, if the gameplay itself is engaging, addictive, and fun. Enter Air Penguin, the new #1 iPhone game on the App Store. Air Penguin certainly has a bird -- a fat penguin, no less -- but is it really that addictive and fun?

I don't get the widespread outrage over so called "casual," simple-minded games. I can spend an afternoon plugging away at the most time-consuming and complex RPG imaginable, and if Angry Birds is thrown in every now and then, so be it. Yes, I'm reviewing an Angry Birds game. Deal with it.

Has it really been 20 years since I first played Another World as a mere child, tried to understand what I was supposed to do, failed, and never got beyond the first section? Apparently it has. Eric Chahi's masterpiece was re-released before as Another World - 15th Anniversary Edition, and this iOS version takes the graphical upgrades and adds touch controls, which actually work surprisingly well.

It’s a bug-eat-bug world out there and victory tastes like... dead insect carcasses. This iOS game is an energetic combination of strategy defense and resource management. Unlike many mobile games that have been released recently, it will keep you entertained and addicted for a while, making the most out of your dollar.

A lot of high profile iOS games have been flooding the market recently, and while we'd love to review them all, many of them slip through the cracks. We'd also love to give each game its own dedicated review, but the nature o...

When Black Flag was first announced, it never really hit me at how great an open-world pirate game could really be. Since so many past iterations were comfortable with walling off players in mini-sandboxes rather than le...

Cartoon Network hasn't been doing a very good job with its videogame adaptations of Adventure Time and Regular Show. Barring one decent (but very brief) romp on the DS and 3DS, the two properties have disappointed fans left a...

If you've ever wanted to try out the mediocre vampire RPG Bloodmasque, now is your chance, as the game is free on iOS until November 7th. Remember, once you redeem anything on the App Store it's yours to keep, so even if you'...

Cave is celebrating three years of selling its wares on mobile platforms by slashing prices on a number of its shooters until April 14. It's largely the same sale we see from them every few months, but there's one notabl...

Burn it All is quite a departure from Pastagames' previous game Pix'n Love Rush. Rather than creating another retro-themed platformer, the developer turned towards a creative take on tackling a puzzle game. And creative is really the key word here, because Burn it All ranks up there with the most creativily designed puzzle games on the App Store.

The rather excellent, if originally pricey, phone/tablet RPG Chaos Rings has snuck its way onto the PlayStation Store, available for purchase on PS Mobile and PS Vita devices. Though only announced for Japan, it's already on ...

When Chaos Rings released for iOS devices last year, it was quite an ambitious project. Impressive visuals, terrific music, and solid roleplaying elements made it a superb title and one of the most successful attempts at brin...

Coin Drop is free today for iPhone and iPad! I even reviewed that game, and I loved it at the time. Can't say I play it anymore, but it provided plenty of fun while it lasted for a $1 game -- which is something you can hardly...

In the modern era of videogames that tends to take itself seriously a bit too often, I occasionally enjoy kicking back with ridiculous, over-the-top games. Games that remind me of the '90s -- where teenage turtles and Super S...

Last month, I reviewed an auto-scrolling runner game for the iPhone called Curio. I wasn't too kind with my judgment, much to the disappointment of the title's main developer Rube Rubenstein. At the end of the day, though, th...

You have to hand it to Dead Space, it's a franchise that knows how to sell out with style. Games, comic books, movies, toys, clothes -- Visceral's action-horror franchise is committed to flooding you with as much stuff as pos...

Ahhh Death Rally, what memories you have given me back in the day. The old Remedy logo, the Apogee splash screen, the fact that it was basically Micro Machines with guns; what wasn't there to like? Now, almost 15 years after ...

Last month Deus Ex: The Fall made the jump over to the PC on Steam, and now it's available for the Mac. As always, if you already bought the game at release, you can just load it up on a Mac with the same account and you...

Touch controls will never be able to replace the accuracy and fluidity that can be achieved with a joystick, but of course, any CAVE fan knows this by now. The actual concern when approaching an iOS CAVE game is if the contro...

The original Double Dragon, the game that started it all, is now available on the Wii U and 3DS eShop. I don't know if it still holds up. I can tell you the movie starring Iron Chef America's Chairman does not. I can bet the cartoon doesn't, either. But, in the words of my uncle: that music is still balling. I've looped the trailer a few times already just listening to it.

Not all videogames have the same goal. Some seek to challenge the player, others, to relax them. Halfbrick usually resides somewhere comfortably in the middle, with easy-to-pick-up titles like Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride ...
