LA Cops

03-13-2015

At first glance, the potential for LA Cops to be an interesting title is great. A top-down shooter in the style of a retro cop squad drama, its main appeal lies in the combination of real-time action with teamwork management, one player using two characters to systematically take down a criminal enterprise. La-Mulana 2

04-16-2014

La-Mulana was regarded by some as the hardest game ever. This isn't going to change, though Nigoro's Takami Naramura wants it to be slightly more intuitive so perhaps all those deaths don't lead to warranted frustration and ...

Lakeview Cabin

05-30-2014

There is something charming about bad horror movies. From the overused tropes to the laughable gore effects, they are hard to take seriously. Lakeview Cabin seems to get that, and is celebrating the stupidity with its episod...

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light

06-29-2012

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris

12-15-2014

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light was a surprise hit for me. I had never been a huge Tomb Raider fan, but its focus on puzzles, asymmetric cooperative multiplayer, and replayability drew me in. It's hard to believe that wa...

Laser Fury

10-28-2014

I do not mean to suggest that Diablo is not good, but the dreary look never really grabbed me, even with Diablo III's improvements in that respect. Laser Fury, on the other hand, takes a hold of my eyes immediately...

Last of the Patriots

I'm always poking around for odd games, and usually I just find things that have some promise but aren't worth talking about or playing. Today I was pleasantly surprised to discover Last of the Patriots. It's an Amiga-inspir...

Last Year

An asymmetrical multiplayer game inspired by horror movies in which several players are the survivors trying to escape and one person is the seemingly unstoppable, omniscient killer. That's an idea I've wanted to see brought...

Legend of Grimrock 2

01-15-2015

The first Legend of Grimrock was damn near perfect. Coming seemingly out of nowhere, it put a fresh new face on the dungeon-crawling genre. It was a game that didn't forget its roots yet also didn't forget that we live in a different time. It's no surprise, then, that the sequel is absolutely stunning.
