Putty Squad

04-14-2014

Of all of the games to get a PS4 remake, you'd probably never put Putty Squad, an SNES game from 1994, at the top of the list. But here we are in 2014 with a full-on re-imagining, with more or less the same platforming mechanics that still work nearly 20 years later. The only problem is, System 3 Software has opted to charge $29.99 for a decidedly dated game -- which is a bit of a problem.

Pushmo World

06-19-2014

People say Nintendo never does anything original outside of Mario and Zelda -- but as we all know, that's absolutely not true. Not only has the company taken chances on wacky IPs all throughout its storied history, but the ad...

Punch Out!!

03-18-2013

Good news, everyone! Some time ago, the European gaming community was up in arms because Nintendo gave them an inferior version of Balloon Fight on the Wii U Virtual Console. It appears as if Nintendo was listening, as F-Zero...

Puddle

01-31-2013

The story of Puddle is a tale of triumph. A group of students had the opportunity to have their game published by Konami after winning a 2010 GDC Independent Games Festival award -- pretty much every young developer's dream. ...

Project Treasure

01-14-2015

Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada made an appearance during today's Nintendo Direct presentation to announce Project Treasure, an upcoming Wii U exclusive from Bandai Namco. While details on the title are scarce, it be a free-to-play four-player co-op action game where "the basic aim is to clear traps, route enemies, and seize treasure."

Project P-100

06-10-2012

There were a couple of things that made the now-disbanded Clover Studio a special team. From God Hand to Viewtiful Joe to Okami, each of their games took a uniquely Japanese idea (apocalypse-the...

Project Giant Robot

06-16-2014

I've always found Nintendo to be endearing, but that feeling has grown stronger ever since the company started doing its Nintendo Direct presentations and silly skits like this. We first met Fils-a-Mech earlier this year and...

Project CARS

04-16-2015

I'll admit it -- when I first heard about Project CARS, I didn't give it much thought. It doesn't help that the name is fairly ho hum, and it's been ages since developer Slightly Mad Studios worked on Need for Speed...

Pokken Tournament

04-26-2015

Bandai Namco revealed Gengar as a new playable character for Pokkén Tournament at NicoNico Chokaigi 2015 yesterday. The grinning ghost Pokémon brings the roster up to seven characters, along with Pikachu, Lucar...

Pokmon Rumble U

09-05-2013

Pokemon is such a strong franchise that even most of the spin-offs can stand on their own. The core generational releases are among my favorite RPGs, but the Game Boy Color Trading Card Game, the Mystery Dungeon series, and Pokemon Snap are some of the most enjoyable games I've ever played due to the amount of care that goes into them. Then there's the Pokemon Rumble series.

Pokemon Scramble U

02-15-2013

A short while ago we informed you of the existence of a new Pokemon game in the Scramble line, called Pokemon Scramble U. Now, the official site is open for business, and hot damn is it adorable! Most of the content is marked...

Pokémon Rumble U

08-31-2013

Pokemon Rumble U dropped last week on the Wii U eShop, and surprisingly, it's the first game that features the integration of NFC (Near field communication) technology on the Wii U. It's a feature that's been there since...

Pikmin 3

11-05-2014

Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto has been working on little, animated Pikmin shorts instead of making games. Good for him. I want him to make wine next. Coppola did it.  Pikmin Short Movies goes on sale after this Ninte...

Pier Solar HD

10-23-2014

WaterMelon's homebrew project Pier Solar and the Great Architects pushed the Sega Genesis to its limits as a new release in 2010 (!) which I thought was courageous, at the time. Still do. The game shipped on an actual cartrid...

Paradise Lost: First Contact

09-26-2014

Paradise Lost: First Contact, otherwise known as "that game with all of the squiggles," will not launch on PC, Mac, Linux, and Wii U this year as originally intended. Developer Asthree Works is pushing the release of the alie...

Paparazzi

12-29-2014

I won't lie; I was tempted to just post Lady Gaga lyrics as I hum the tune and then call it a day. That would do a disservice to the game Paparazzi, which was featured in the Indiecade showcase at E3 2014. We missed it then,...

Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2

04-22-2014

It's probably the 12-year-old in me that digs this new commercial for PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures 2. Burping with force waves? Cool. Sound effect stand-ins for farts? Love it. The scream-y Ask Ketchum/Naruto voice over narrator? Tops, man.  Not going to lie: I've watched this more than once. I'm also pretty proud of my screenshot of the boy belching.

Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures

10-20-2013

Namco Bandai's European wing recently registered a new set of domains, unearthing eight titles that potentially could see western releases in the not too distant future. The batch includes a domain for a Short Peace game, ind...
