Iridium Studios, who previously developed the Kickstarter-funded rhythm RPG Sequence, have unveiled their next project, and are once again turning to the crowdfunding site to help produce their game. In a departure demonstrating the studio's eclectic nature, There Came an Echo is neither rhythm-based nor RPG, but rather it is a voice controlled real-time strategy game, akin to Tom Clancy's EndWar.
It's not much to look at currently, but the fully customizable voice commands appear to work well in the prototype footage shown. For star power, Wil Wheaton has signed on to voice the protagonist Corrin, and Ronald Jenkees, Jimmy Hinson, and Judith de los Santos will all be contributing to the soundtrack. Really, all that appears to be missing is the artwork.
The funding total is currently just over $60,000 of the $90,000 goal with fifteen days left in the campaign.
