Pokemon X

It was slightly surprising to hear that the Twitch Plays Pokémon community is still active if for no other reason than I thought folks would have beaten all of the games by now. Not quite! There's still Pokémon X, and without an emulator to run a retail copy of the title, things have gotten interesting. dekuNukem, who created that automated shiny Pokémon finder, is back.

He has modified a 3DS so that the buttons, circle pad, and touch screen can be controlled from an external source, and equipped the handheld with a capture device. Pokémon X -- and any future Pokémon 3DS games -- can now be crowdsourced through Twitch Plays. Amazing stuff.

It begins tomorrow at 9:00pm Pacific. Excited to see what role Wonder Trading will have in the run, but in the mean time, the channel is hosting Twitch Plays Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
