Fire Emblem: Awakening, once expected to be the last game in a now rejuvenated series, has sold at least 1.79 million copies worldwide. That's as of December 2014, according to singer Renka's official site, via GeekSnack. She'll be singing as the blue-haired girl, Aqua, if you were wondering why this news comes from a musician's webpage.

Near 2 million ain't bad for a niche within a niche (turn-based strategy RPG) seemingly on its last legs. While the data accounts for a lengthy two and half year period, just for kicks, know that if those numbers were for only 2014, Awakening would've been the 10th best selling game of 2014, bumping off an NBA game and falling right behind Titanfall and Super Smash Bros. For another reference point, the previous Fire Emblem moved about 250,000 units.
