I saw some Rage vids on the yogscast, terrible terrible bugs they said that if you have the battlefield 3 beta drivers installed AND the these new rage drivers installed you only fuck up the game even more!!
The only thing the newer amd driver did for me was allow me to run the game without crashing. I still have many problems including freezing every 10 seconds and texture problems. I'm not terribly impressed with the launch to say the least, but the intro is promising enough.
Its very rare I buy PC games near release for this very reason.
Why have a buggy experience when you can wait 2 or 3 months buy it cheaper and hopeully most of the bugs have been ironed out.
Theres also a good chance that draconian DRM has been removed as well

RAGE and iD have been TERRIBLE... the new drivers messed up my computer as well as many others ... DONT BUY THIS GAME IS A PIECE OF SH*T ... I couldn't even LAUNCH the damn game...
When i tried to install the nvidia beta drivers it blue screened my oc mid way through. I had to uninstall my drivers and use driver sweeper to fully get rid of them.
Large hassle an yet at the end of things the new drivers didnt really fix much.

To get more out of your graphics also, go to the game in Steam, go to properties, 'set launch options' and in that box put:
+cvaradd g_fov 20 +set com_skipIntroVideo 1 +fc_maxcachememoryMB 1024 +ik_enablesmoothing 0 +image_usecompression 0 +jobs_numthreads 4 +mem_phymemblocksizem 3072 +m_smooth 0 +m_rawinput 1
What this'll do is put your fov up to 100 (concerning fov tweaks, the base is 80 so 'g_fov 20' will add 20 onto 80 and so on), skips those intro videos, and other tweaks to make textures appear crisper/higher def as well as maximise the usage of your graphics card, cpu and ram, and on top of all that get rid of that shitty acceleration and replace it with raw input mouse controls, hopefully this helps (and thanks to wastelander for showing me these tricks!)

What I do is fire up the Boot Disk, enter the commands: Load "*",8,1 and rock my face off! I also use the Barney Mod that lets you shoot that dino instead of the demons!

Only issues i was having at launch were artifacts showing up all over my screen and texture popping, however with the latest ati drivers things have been set to gold for me :) Running at solid 60fps @ 1080p 8x AA and 8x AS with no dip. Im enjoying this beast of a game. While its not revolutionary from a gameplay perspective, its a true to the bone id Software shooter, and visually it is fucking spectacular! And yes.. you CAN strafejump in this wasteland! >:D

Before the driver, the game wouldn't even start. It works mostly fine now. There are still some screen tearing issues and a few graphical glitches. Other than that, everything is working great.
The game is far better than Sterling says. Most of his complaints are fabricated.
