I actually prefer them having them. Prison is still a generally horrible experience but at least this way they're just playing games instead of breaking out and killing people. You wanna talk wastes of tax payers money I have four words for you. MPs and the BNP.

just paint the cells with insulating paint. prisoners should have video games because the games keep violence way down, and can be used as punishment and taken away for violators. it's the whole idle hands thing. it's not like they can roll in to ebgames and buy stuff, so they aren't gonna take your life whilst in line.
And if they had a 360, the heat from the console could melt the prison bars...
