Prinnies invade PlayStation Home, doods! photo

Hey! A reason to turn on PlayStation Home AND keep it on for three hours before actually getting to use it because of all the mandatory updates that need to be installed!

The Nippon Ichi lounge in PlayStation Home is playing host to a Prinny party! Every fifteen minutes, five Prinnies will race and explode around a track where players can bet on the winning Prinny. It's basically like a horse race, BUT WITH EXPLOSIONS!

If the player picks right, they'll be rewarded with virtual items such as shirts, masks and other goods that will kind of make Home worth having installed in the first place. Kind of.

Why can't Sony just admit Home is a failure... I have a PS3 and even I know that. They are probably the most stubborn of the big three.

Do you have to do something special to initiate this? Cause I've been in here over 15 minutes and am getting nothing.

You know what, after many months of ignoring HOME I dropped in there to check out the E3 booth - not only was it good, but all of the updates and downloads run in the background, so you literally only have to wait for ONE area to download (if you don't have the latest version of ANY) and set the rest downloading while you dick around in the one you've downloaded. They only take a minute, maybe 2 at the most. Play some tug of war or pool or bowling or arcade games, or watch some videos for a mintue or something.

Maybe it's my 50mb/s fibre optic cable broadband, or maybe it's just that the stubborn, moany, hard to please (even with FREE SHIT) Internet world can't forget about how they had to wait 2 minutes for an update that one time a while back.

Seriously though, this little community of nerds can say "HOME is shit, just admit you failed" all you like, fact of the matter is more people visited the E3 booth in HOME than the real E3, and I would imagine that's more people than the whole Dtoid community x10 over.

If HOME was "failing" or losing Sony money they would have shut it down already. It's clearly not, whenever I drop in there it's full of people in paid for outfits and shit, Sony are making money from HOME, they have IMHO a great platform to bring things like E3 to the PS3 userbase (did I mention it's FREE), most importantly of all every single PS3 user has access to it, for free, but it's completely optional. Hell if you don't want to waste HDD space on it you don't have to.

The internet generation can fucking piss me off sometimes, we're a proper bunch of whiney bitches.

You can guarantee that if MS did anything similar they would charge you for it, and that's why I like Sony AND HOME.

Only thing i don't like are the new games which require you to buy tokens, I'm not paying money to play HOME games Sony, don't be silly, but hey, as is often the case with Sony asking for money - it's OPTIONAL! There are things promised in the pre-release info that I'd like to see in there (TV's, Picture frames etc), which is a shame, but HOME is certainly not a negative point, it's just a nice optional extra.

Could this mean that NIS is finally working on 3D
Yeah I know that Ar Tonelico 3 is in 3D but we also know that they are working on Disgaea 4 and we don't know if it will be on 2D or 3D

I would be all over this if it didn’t take a couple of hours to get Home running again. Oh well, maybe Celica Crazed will do a blog about it...

Apparently, on the internet, 5-10 earth minutes translates to 2 intarweb hours. You guys really know how to exaggerate, just saying. Oh and I occasionally pop into PS Home, tons of people there, definitely not a failure as far as I am concerned.

I think it would be pretty cool if Sony integrated Home more with the rest of PSN, especially if that meant that people's Home avatars could became PSN avatars (a la Miis and 360 avatars).

Home itself didn't do it for me, but if I had a PSN persona that included more than my username and a blue-piece-of-clay-that-looks-like-poo-which-is-why-I-chose-it, I'd log into home and change my clothes and set up my apartment and shit, which would only increase Sony's chances of making money off me...
