Curious as to how Prince of Persia: Rival Swords will play and look on the Wii? Well, here's your answer mister question asker. Looks good? Bad? I can't really tell. It looks as if someone smeared Vaseline all over the camera.
@joeybuckets
I had the same reaction. All these movements are glorified button commands. BAD way to use the controllers in my opinion, since it kinda distances you from the action by getting you to quickly shake your wrist to SLIDE DOWN A FUCKING TAPESTRY.
Wow, that looks to be the most counter-intuitive controll system I've EVER seen.
It's all just situational jars of the controller. The ONLY thing that I would be able to figure out myself is the balancing and the camera control.
What the hell is so bad about pressing the B button to attack?
And if I'm seeing it correctly, a small jar of the nuchuck causes you to drop from a "hanging" position?! MY GOD! I can't keep from pressing the wrong BUTTON occasionally (out of nerves that this game produces, "OMG WHICH BUTTON IS CLIMB UP AND WHICH IS LET GO?!?!?") let ALONE trying to stop myself from moving my left hand altogether.
I wasn't all that impressed with Two Thrones and found it average at best when I rented it on the Gamecube coming from a person who was a huge fan of the first and somewhat of the second (it wasn't that bad in my opinion). When it came around to finishing the trilogy I kind of lost interest. And to see this as just a port with awkward controls makes me lose faith even more.
This is just a port of Two Thrones with wii controls tacked on. I played the pc version which was hard enough to control. Trying to do everything with various shaking of the wiimote and nunchuck isn't a good control scheme.
Red Steel, Far Cry Wii, and now this? I've completely lost faith in Ubisoft.....they're kinda making the Wii look bad, as much as games like Elebits and LoZ:TP suggest otherwise.
3rd parties are half assing on making original Wii games by porting already existing projects and tacking on less than suggestive context controls to experience an "innovative" way of playing. Thanks a lot, Ubisoft. Now the wait for real games are going to be even longer now...
I HATE Ubisoft. Right from the beginning, they claimed all this Wii support, but it is all complete shit. They just don't *get* the Wii. Even EA does...Tiger Woods 07 is probably my most anticipated game right now based on the previews I have been seeing and I've never owned a golf game before [besides Wii Sports]. Shame on all who bought any of Ubisoft's crappy ports or flawed games for the Wii. For the time being, if it says Ubisoft on the box, I'm not even going to give it a chance.
The blood of the Wii will be on the hands of those that buy sloppy half assed ports like this.
Accept no substitute, insist on excellence my brothers. Or else the battle will have been fought in vain, and the Wii will become the land of dead, dying, and crap ass ports. You must take a stand against this, not just today, but every day. Resist the urge to buy, even in times of drought...
I already played this game on my Wii with controls that weren't freaking stupid..for 10 dollars. Good luck convincing me to buy into this one Ubisoft. Also, thanks for setting a terrible example for what Wii games should be.
What in God's name is even going on there? I saw virtually no connection between the controller movements and the on-screen action. That just looks fucking confusing.

So if I go up with the nunchuck and down with the remote thats the whip? Or the jump/swing on a curtain? Or what?
PS Rob keep us out of your vaseline soaked east village little world. Kisses.

Or better yet, pick up a used copy of Two Thrones for GC and pretend playing with the Wiimote.
Another lame port.
Controls look a complicated, but wouldn't it be fun if you have to do the whip action with the controller when you want the Prince to use it?
I haven't really checked, but do these new games offer classic controller use also? If so, at least you can have a choice on how you want to play it.

(P.P. = Pointless Port)
P.S. Ports don't count. ZELDA DOESNT COUNT!
PC FTW
