Prince of Persia Wii revealed, all platforms dated photo

Ubisoft has revealed the Wii version of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands today and it looks... wow. That looks really good!

The publisher points out that this "built entirely from the ground up" version of the game "utilizes advanced technologies to deliver a smooth, clear, and impressive graphic experience on the Wii." By "advanced technologies" it most certainly means "magic," right?

Shacknews has confirmed that Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands will hit retail for all SKUs, including PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, PSP, and Nintendo DS.

Actually this looks really good for a Wii game.

Ubi's last PoP was a chore to finish. It wasn't bad but for all it's beauty it was boring. Hope they make something a little more riveting with the franchise this time.

I am actually excited by this. Will be a PS3 buy for me, but I didn't like the last PoP game. Graphics put me off.

I'm tempted to call BS on this one, but if Ubisoft managed to put these graphics on the Wii, then they have gained my respect.(for the time being)

Sigh. That's not a Wii shot. It's a bullshot, taken from what the devs have on their PC screens, probably upscaled from... I'll just copypasta my Joystiq comment.

"God damn bullshots. YEAH I KNOW WORDS LIKE THAT :3. Writer for the UK
Official Nintendo Mag explained- if the resolution is past a certain
point, the Wii actually can't output at that res, so it must be from
the developer's computer screen, not being played on an actual Wii"

Or something like that.

I'm not one who usually looks at graphics very closely, and I certainly don't know much about the technical side of graphics, but it seems to me the engine isn't doing anything the Cube version of Sands of Time couldn't do.

It has the same feel to it, IMO, and what's changed is just the style. Glad it looks good, but I don't think it looks particularly impressive.

But who knows, maybe Sands of Time on GCN doesn't look as good as I remember.

I hope it is as good as the Sands Of Time trilogy.

The Wii versions of most multi-platform releases tend to be the weakest. I'm pretty confident this will be the case with the new Prince game as well, though the stills (if real) are impressive for the Wii.

@HOLY TACO

Thanks for being one of the few people who can reasonably criticize the gameplay of the last installment while still acknowledging that it was visually beautiful. I just think it's crazy when people say that the main thing they didn't like about the last one was the way it looked. That's why we're getting this emo/goth Prince in the next outing.

It looks like Bionic Commando.

The failed Bionic Commando. It has nothing to do with the Wii, it just looks bland.
