Prince of Persia SNES included in PoP: Forgotten Sands photo

As revealed at Nintendo's mysterious San Fran event in a dark room somewhere, the Wii version of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands -- which is completely different than the PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 versions -- will include a nice freebie: Prince of Persia SNES on the disc.

We were also told it'll sport 2-person cooperative play, but honestly, free 16-bit skeletons is what I'm most concerned about today. From what I remember, the SNES remake of the original PoP was a lovely little game.

Good news for anyone thinking of getting this new Wii game, that's for sure.

Bad news for everyone else. Why don't they kick us in the balls as well, just to be sure.

I was going to complain about this version having censored blood and really only improving the graphics, but reading up on the differences between all the versions, apparently the SNES version has additional levels, expanded original levels, and a two hour time limit instead of the original game's one hour (to make up for the additional time required).

So I guess I'm glad that they're including something for those of us who already have a different version. Even though I have the Xbox version of Sands of Time, which included the Mac ports of POP1 and POP2 (the best computer-based ports), I would play this version.

Kinda like the Fate of Atlantis bonus in the Indiana Jones game. Which means if I ever see unsold copies of PoP: The Forgotten Sands for six quid in the Sainsburys sale again I'll be sure to buy!

I remember when new games used to include old school games. Metroid prime had metroid, animal crossing had about 12 (when hacked). I'm surprised this didn't go to virtual console.

They always get the different version. Gee, I wonder why? Aww poorWii, can't handle the HD graphics? You need to make the game accommodate your little waggle stick?

^ Lol, Wii was launched in 2006 and there are still people who can't get over the fact that Wii is not an HD twin.

That is pretty neat. This is sort of like how the first Sands of Time game had PoP 1 and 2 on it (well, the Xbox version did).

SNES version also had a full soundtrack. Wish it had made it into PoP Classic for 360.

@KingSigy - the PS2 version had PoP 1, I'm not aware of it having PoP 2...or at least, I never unlocked it :\
