That is one ugly djinn.

I'm somewhat concerned about the Prince of Persia franchise. Sands of Time is a legendary game, and the series began a precipitous fall in the titles that followed it. The last iteration, an attempted reboot, took the story in a new direction but many lamented gameplay changes -- myself included.

But does the solution to the problem really lie in going back to the same thing which had been going to hell in the first place? That just seems like a bad idea. Grateful to have time-altering sand back in my pants but, jeez, the tale was stretched thin enough already.

The game looks awesome, but I really hope those are trailer voice actors, not game voice actors...

Did the people complaining about voice actors even play Sands of Time?!

NERDY: Being the only one excited for Prince Of Persia: The Forgotten Sands.

SUPER NERDY: Going to a midnight launch with close to 50 people and being the only one there for Prince Of Persia (everyone else wanted Red Dead Redemption)

All the bro's and kids in basketball shorts (and the one guy who actually looked like he just came from the ranch) looked at me like I was some sort of leper.

Possibly the worst voice acting I've heard in years.

Was that Chris Judge? And why does the prince suddenly sound horrible?

The trailer and low profile release seem to fully confirm what everyone suspected: The game is Ubisoft's attempt to cash-in on the film and that shallow philosophy seems to be reflected in what looks to be a very uninspired retread of the old trilogy.

Why does this keep looking like it was made in 2003?

Your all just butthurt because JPrince hasn't made an unwanted return.

Guys, no joke, this game is actually pretty good. If you liked the original trilogy, it's pretty excellent.

I personally loved Prince 2008, but I also love the old ones. Why this game has had no hype or marketing is beyond me. I had the same fears as you all and I've been pleasantly surprised.

Also, @AudioTerror - I feel your pain. I was the only one there for Prince as well. The midnight launch was for Red Dead, and I left with Prince and Alan Wake. Even the employees thought I had problems.

PoP 2008 was nearly flawless. Abandoning it for this crap was a huge mistake.

Ubisoft has seen the future, and it is the past.

Seriously, looking almost exactly like a game I played 7 years ago (minus the laughably bad voicework) is not a good thing.

Fuck the voice acting is terrible in that trailer. Almost as bad as that annoying twerp in the stupid Gamestop commercials you have to watch before every fucking video on this site.

MasterBalls: Do you even realize that it's been 7 years since Sands of Time? There were almost no games with decent voice acting in 2003, but now even half-rate ones are good at times and the crap in that trailer is entirely unacceptable for a big name game from a big name publisher. Good thing I'm boycotting Ubisoft over their idiotic Assassin's Creed 2 promotions at PAX so I won't feel even remotely compelled to play this garbage.

That was the perfect storm of really, really bad dialog and actors who didn't know what to make of it.

The game looks like it might be fun, but that was a terrible trailer.

I saw the UK TV spot for this game yesterday. The voice over is completely different. Its a narrative by Patrick Stewart.

Still there is room for greater development and I would recommend more emphasis on research and of course it will bring a better situation. Thanks for sharing a nice read. Cheers
