That is one ugly djinn.
I'm somewhat concerned about the Prince of Persia franchise. Sands of Time is a legendary game, and the series began a precipitous fall in the titles that followed it. The last iteration, an attempted reboot, took the story in a new direction but many lamented gameplay changes -- myself included.
But does the solution to the problem really lie in going back to the same thing which had been going to hell in the first place? That just seems like a bad idea. Grateful to have time-altering sand back in my pants but, jeez, the tale was stretched thin enough already.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
SUPER NERDY: Going to a midnight launch with close to 50 people and being the only one there for Prince Of Persia (everyone else wanted Red Dead Redemption)
All the bro's and kids in basketball shorts (and the one guy who actually looked like he just came from the ranch) looked at me like I was some sort of leper.
I personally loved Prince 2008, but I also love the old ones. Why this game has had no hype or marketing is beyond me. I had the same fears as you all and I've been pleasantly surprised.
Also, @AudioTerror - I feel your pain. I was the only one there for Prince as well. The midnight launch was for Red Dead, and I left with Prince and Alan Wake. Even the employees thought I had problems.
Seriously, looking almost exactly like a game I played 7 years ago (minus the laughably bad voicework) is not a good thing.
MasterBalls: Do you even realize that it's been 7 years since Sands of Time? There were almost no games with decent voice acting in 2003, but now even half-rate ones are good at times and the crap in that trailer is entirely unacceptable for a big name game from a big name publisher. Good thing I'm boycotting Ubisoft over their idiotic Assassin's Creed 2 promotions at PAX so I won't feel even remotely compelled to play this garbage.
The game looks like it might be fun, but that was a terrible trailer.
Now there's something I don't hear a guy say every day.
