Prince of Persia Epilogue DLC to be the Deal of the Week photo

Here’s a mouthful: the price of Prince of Persia’s “Epilogue” downloadable content is to be lowered at some point this afternoon. According to CVG, Microsoft has pegged the piece of DLC as its latest Deal of the Week promotion. As such, the introductory 800 Microsoft Banana Dollar price will be cut to 560 MSP. Not bad a bad tag, if the price kept you from seeing the (true?) conclusion of the game.

The DLC offers a bit more than a continuation of the narrative. It adds a new power called Energize, introduces a new region, a new attack, and even a few more skins for the ever-helpful Elika and the Prince. Lasting a few hours, “Epilogue” is also harder than the core game -- a direct result, perhaps, of the message board moans and groans about the game.

So, cheaper is better, right? How many of you are jumping on this (provided Microsoft cuts the price)?

Actually, this is fantastic timing, because GameStop has the actual game on sale for $19.99 this week, too.

Woah, I just beat this last night, and ALMOST bit on the DLC, but decided to hold off for a bit. Glad I did now.

But as far as I can tell, this DLC doesn't add any skins:
"New Unlockable Skins: From the early development of the game, the Prototype characters of the Prince and Elika."

I unlocked these very skins when I beat the game.

Excellent. I picked the game a few weeks ago but haven't grabbed the DLC yet. Glad I waited.

I loved Prince of Persia, but I found the DLC epilogue to be much lower quality than the main game. Not the game's difficulty (which I thought wasn't that much different), but the tone of the game. The main game is exploration mixed with fighting. The expansion is like an on-rails version of the main game, which took a lot of the fun out. At $10 I felt like it was a bad purchase. Maybe I wouldn't feel that way if I bought it for $5.

Skipped over this, but now that it's cheaper, is there anyone that has played the DLC and could recommend it?

Is this true for the PSN? If so I might take up this offer.

All the PC people should feel lucky they don't get this. The DLC ruined what I thought was one of the best endings to a videogame that I had seen in recent history.

I loved the game, though I was a little suprised at how short the epilogue was, it was still a great addition to the story. As for the skins, I think it adds the skins from the old prince of persia, not the prototype ones. I could be wrong though, it's been forever since I've played the game really.

I might bite on this now. I normally don't buy epilogue packs like this until they go on sale. Force Unleashed, Fable II, and now Prince of Persia have all had DLC as deals of the week. It pays to wait.

Hm..At $60 it sucks to pay this much for the "real" ending, but getting it on sale for #20 and then the DLC for $7? I'm game.

@Los255:

There has been much worse on XBLM. 560 MSP is 7 USD.

Ugh. After loving Sands of Time, the new quicktime-based Prince of Persia was awful. Made it through to the end, but no thanks to more of it.
