Prince of Persia and Shaun White Snowboarding going Mac in March photo

Hold on to your butts. Ubisoft are releasing Macintosh versions of Prince of Persia and Shaun White Snowboarding this March. Yeah, you read me -- the two highest rated games of the year* are coming to the Macintosh. This March.

The ports have been made possible thanks to developer TransGaming that -- much to my dismay -- have nothing to do with Optimus Prime or Starscream. I tried to reach TransGaming for comment about their name’s proximity to my youthful obsession, but my hand got tired right before I started typing.

The games will be distributed through “traditional” stores and digitally through Ubisoft’s GameTree Online Service. Special “select” locations in March will get three other chart rippers: CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Hard Evidence, Rayman Raving Rabbids and Petz Sports.

March is going to be awesome.

* Not an accurate statement.

I am pretty sure this blog image doesn't reflect the graphics in these games. I know we want to hate Apple because they represent a pretentious consumer audience, but Apple can handle graphics just fine. People that play games on a Mac already know this.

I was mostly responding to Grimspoon comment. I also own a Mac and find the caddy Mac remarks to hold no real weight from a hardware perspective. Yeah they are expensive, but they are also cheaper to maintain and come with all the software an average computer user would ever need. So in the end it seems to balance out. Of course the lack of a DirectX license is the only real reason we don't see Mac games (but even that has its work around).
