Ubisoft has started releasing a new set of vignettes that offer more in-depth perspective on the new Prince of Persia through interviews with media and developers. This video focuses on the Prince himself. Topics of discussion include how he differs from other protagonists in the action genre of gaming, his personality and what motivates him.
I think my favorite quote from this video comes from the mouth of Prince of Persia's producer, Ben Mattes, where he says that the Prince "doesn't smolder with generic rage." I guess we're just supposed to forget about what was done with the great promise the character held in the second two installments of the previous trilogy. Sweet, sweet irony.
With luck, they won't make that same mistake twice, because -- changes to the art style aside -- what we've seen of Prince of Persia reminds me very much of Sands of Time. It would be a real shame to repeat history here, but at least we might get one more great game out of it.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Do you think that was intentional? 'Cause that'd actually be kind of neat.

Ah, that's what I was thinking of. I had it mixed up a bit.
Okay, so is it a deliberate PA reference or just a coincidence?
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this game.
Whatever though, it looks pretty, and if it has the adventure focused gameplay to match, I don't really care too much about the character.
The characters themselves seems to be generic Hollywood stock.
Anyway it's the gameplay that looks interesting and that's what matters.
I guess what I mean to say is This video is pointless.
Some of those 'experts' really need to improve their knowledge, though.
cause that'll just throw me off the whole time when i'm playing.
Ugh.
