And Sofik, you are seriously a fucking idiot, just stop embarrassing yourself
It might sound like I'm being overtly negative, and maybe I am, but I honestly am glad this exists. More Smash Bros-type games is only a good thing in the long run. Plus, that stage idea is really awesome. I wouldn't mind seeing the next Smash game take a few cues from this game and have stages that are a mix of multiple franchises.
I already know I'll buy the next Smash (and would buy it over this, although their release windows won't be anywhere near each other) and I'm not a big enough fan of the genre to buy two similar types of fighters. That, and there just aren't any fighters that play like Power Stone anymore (there weren't really that many back then either) and I miss that particular style of fighting mayhem.
Game looks OK, in my opinion - not too keen on the stage mashups, would have preferred each stage to be based on a single game. They should also add a bit more colour, the palette is a bit bland.

Ahh well, maybe Sony will surprise me. But for now, not interrested.
Gtfo you morons.
Also each roster has crap characters and good characters, each has charm, being honest the only Nintendo characters i like are Link and Samus, the others can piss off the boring bastards.
God damn, can any company do anything without the other company's fanboys converging like a group of zombies!
I personally never owned a nintendo console so i never played SSB.I'm looking forward to this.
umm, cause it's not a copy? Nintendo build-in technology that allows specific objects to not only influence the gameplay, but also for example pay for DLC and games simply by putting your credit card on the controller.
plus from the video it looks like it will be so much cooler - for example you can unlock new levels and characters from different Ubisoft's franchises(they showed Ezio at the end of the trailer), but also they can change existing levels or work like special power-ups.
that technology wasn't "invented" by activision - they weren't even the first company to use it in video games(there are dozens of Arcade Cabinets that were using this technology for years and few games for consoles in the past), but Skylanders was the first that was so successful. it's easier to point to Skylanders so people will know what you're talking about rather than using a name of that technology and 250 additional words that would explain what it is.
And for the record, the 4-player beat-em up wasnt "invented" by Nintendo either.
There's absolutely no reason they had to copy every little detail that makes SSB unique.
Sony comes off as an unoriginal, plagiarizing douche, IMO.
I'd say just keep your minds open, if you're not interested that's fine! I'm liking how wildly different some of the mascots are making the game feel sillier. Here's hoping the final product will be good!
I think they could make it work as a psn release, but I think a retail version might fall on its face.
Okay. Wow.
I'm already sold when I heard Parappa.
Holy moly.
Sony's slapping Nintendo in the face with this, because I know this game is definately coming out before the new Smash Bros.

Even if I end up not liking this, I'm glad it exists. It might make Nintendo give a damn about their next Smash release.
I can't help but think Sony characters lack some the charisma Nintendo character have, though.
That said: I really want to see Wanderer beating the shit out of Kratos.
Lets just not go into "Its bettah than brawl cuz its in HD looool".
Fighter's Megamix was released by Sega in 1996
X-Men vs Street Fighter was released by Capcom in 1996
But when Nintendo released Smash Brothers its like they invented the crossover fighting genre like Apple invented touchscreen smart phones.
This is an old tried and true genre and successful formula every major game development company should have.
after all, arent all the FPS games a blatant ripoff of Wolfenstein3D?
sure the gameplay is very VERY similar to ssb, but honestly its not a reason for the nintendo fans to go apeshit because the gameplay is similar.
..if the game is good and fun...whats the problem? ...and what if the game end up being better and more fun than ssb?
I'm happy someone else will take a crack at the smash bros formula. I likes brawl but something just wasn't right about it. Not to mention Nintendo only releases a smash games once in a blue moon. I'm glad to see another game in the style.
Also, hope they choose to include Lammy and Wander.
What if it's better than Brawl? We really don't know at this point. We don't even have a vague *year* target for the next Smash Brothers.
Nintendo doesn't have a copyright on Mascot Fighters, Kart Racing, or any other genre for that matter.
Square Enix didn't make a Smash Bros clone, the made thier own game in Dissidia. Lots of mash up aren't this blatant.
MKvsDCU is reviled for this kind of knockoff crap, so why does Sony get a pass?
PLAGIARISM!!!!!!!
I mean, this is just kinda sad. Can Sony do ANYTHING original? Does the core Sony fanbase even WANT a Smash Bros clone?
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Sony just don't have the characters and history to make it work. The variety just isn't there and the M rated characters aren't going to mesh well with the few cartoony ones.
The constantly shifting stages would get annoying as hell if that's all there is, and the game doesn't look tourney friendly at all at this point.
"Who cares if it's FUN" the defenders say, but if Nintendo so blatently lifted a Sony game, you would change your tune.

Im just saying I believed it was fun as well but pretty much everyone saying ripoff should stick to the originals of everything and never play anything else ever... Or lets just stfu and you know welcome competition and the idea that some might find enjoyment in such a game?
Everyone always talks about how games never innovate but if a game gets created by a company that looks like a game from a company they favor they crap on it...Except what is it that helps drive innovation? Competition and the idea that others can beat you at what you do! Anyway im just kind of sick about people who play every random shooter instead of crying how wolfenstein was the absolute pinnacle of FPS...
Anyway this preview has me excited and if they decide to bring in third party characters I welcome it! Actually next generation how about Nintendo, microsoft and Sony just make one giant brawler with crossplatform ability and we just fight it out in the game? It be a lot more valuable then wasting our time in these petty arguments that arent stopping games that look like other games from being made...
