When I bet the reality is something more like "Red Faction: Armageddon in the snow."
god damn capcom
Also, damn those colors are vibrant! Such beautiful use of blue!
They made CoD: Finest Hour, Turning Point, and Legendary. They're also rumored to be the developer of Battlefront 3. Not exactly a great resume.
So they are making LP3 and focusing on the 2 things nobody liked about the previous titles, good job Capcom, out of touch with your audience like always.
I liked LP2, I enjoyed the co-op mechanic immensely, I loved the combat system, I loved unlocking shit for my space barbie, many people loved it to seeing as LP2 still has a very robust active online community whereas LP1 multi is dead, the PvP in LP2 is also dead.
See what I'm hinting at here Capcom? People liked the co-op but whatever, this company is a failure in my eyes at this point and I refuse to support them.
Anyway, I hope there's a bit more variety than just the rig. I can't help but think what they did with Red Faction though. Went from the awesomeness of Guerrilla to being a step down in almost every aspect with Armageddon.
Well a cautiously optimistic - I really liked LP1 and the Akrid combat of LP2. Here's hoping that LP3 knocks it out of the park. Also less pirates or whatever on foot humans we fight in this one. Was boring - unless I can blow limbs/heads off :)
The last two games that the developer behind Lost Planet 3 made were Turning Point: Fall of Liberty and Legendary: The Box so...yeah don't get your hopes up for anything decent.
On the other hand, they already HAVE Capcom Vancouver. And if my memory isn't flawed, they're not doing anything in particular right now so... why not let THEM handle this? Why a developer who's track record seems to consist of purely bad to mediocre games?
And on the third, and most important hand... why are all these projects being handed to development teams outside Japan? Is it cheaper? Do Capcom just have that little faith in it's own studios any more? What is with all the out-sourcing, when the out-sourcing has so far been a mixed bag? What does Capcom hope to gain from all this? I just can't decipher their intentions.
What I've seen so far COULD be interesting, but... Legendary, man. Don't know what to think.
I really can't fathom why this series is 3 games in this generation when others have much more universal appeal.. To each his own I guess.
I can't be alone in wanting an unscripted "Monster Hunter with guns" game, which is the direction this series should've taken all along.
I kind of liked the original, but playing the sequel single-player was like walking a pack of dogs through a meatpacking plant, and having to start over every time one of them snapped a leash and runs off with a chain of sausages. And now this one wants to build upon the weakest part of both games. I don't think I'm getting fooled a second time.
Pleased that the beautiful snowy setting's back. Also, if I can still rip shotguns off mechs and run around with this crazy 12 foot long cannon, I'm all up for that.
YES DALE the First two games WERE BAD.. quite actual SHIT!! Lost Planet series SUCKS!! Stop actin' like it doesn't!!
