Unlike some I really enjoyed DA2, even with it's reused assets popping up a bit more than I'd like.
I hope you're not going to suggest that Varric wasn't the best character in the series. Honestly, the DA2 characters were all pretty good (except Fenris, maybe), but they all suffered from much less interaction than the DA1 cast had.
It's a crime to offer up characters as fun to talk to as Varric, Aveline, and Isabella, but only let you talk to them a couple times a chapter.
Nope! That's the dreaded "warehouse" location! Oh man that location was great - our party had good times visiting "warehouse" OVER THIRTY TIMES <3

Really though, this looks pretty lame. I was under the impression you would play as Hawke, and it would be easy to assimilate this into your main game, so that each time you play, you have a quest to complete to level up *your* Hawke. My guess is this will play out like the Darkspawn Chronicles did in DA:O - you just select it from the main menu screen, play it once, and be done with it.
I'm also skeptical of the difficulty. I know it's hard at press events to really concentrate, not to mention the fact that you don't have all of your skills, weapons, and abilities on hand because they give you a demo build. I have little doubt that the strategy will be not much more than "mash mash mash - dodge - heal - mash mash mash" for my Warrior and Rogue characters.
Otherwise, ESIV: Oblivion 5th Anni Edition is currently consuming all my gaming time and attention.
Still, this is in my pile of "need to finish" games, so I may at some point pick up the expansion. I think they need to make a game where your choices at some point could cost you the character. Then you're forced to play as one of your team members, and based on how you used them/treated them, directs how the game plays out. It would be far more exciting then just giving us some DLC to play as a different character.
Also a bit skeptical of the difficulty, as I ran my entire first playthrough of DA2 in Hard mode, downshifting to normal only for some of the more excruciating fights. (I'm happy playing most games on Normal.)
But not new environments I see.
Huh? I must have missed a lot of DA2, because I do not recognize the locations of most of those screenshots.
I had a huge amount of fun with DA2, so I'll probably pick this up. Gonna wait for reviews first, though, because most of the DA:O DLC wasn't very good at all.
