We at Destructoid are always looking to improve our reviews. They're a huge part of our site and one of the most controversial aspects of any videogame community, so ensuring that reviews are clear, concise and fair should be a prime priority of any outlet.
With that in mind, we realize that reviews are always going to be a sore point and the root of many arguments, no matter how clear we make the scoring system or refined the review's text. That doesn't mean we can't try, however, and I think our continued effort may finally have paid off.
Introducing the latest evolution of Destructoid reviews -- an all-new format, with a focus on finally giving the audience what it wants from a game review. This is what the people asked for, this is what they are getting!
Jim Sterling serves as reviews editor for Destructoid.com, head of the Podtoid podcast, and produces a number of news stories, original features, one-of-a-kind videos. With his passionate argumentative style, controversial opinions, harsh delivery, and dedication to brutal honesty Sterling is a name that you can't help but recognize.

Considering no inconsistencies were ever pointed out, that can't really be true.
Fantastic.
like grfx,sound,gameplay,story,interface etc. and then a final grade for over all not based on an average.
just an example. COD:MW3
grfx-c good , but nothing ground breaking, weird popups etc.
snd-c again nothing special, usual war sounds.
gameplay-a alot of fun to play if its your kind of game.
single player-f to short, usual war nonsense. bad guys, nukes etc.
multiplayer-a alot of fun. good online matchmaking blah blah.
final grade-b while nothing special since that last games, its still fun to play. if you like that kind of game

try rewarding good behavior by replying to more constructive comments ,instead for giving trolls the reaction they want from you,
because for them, its all about being noticed.
I know replying to nice and bland comments does not get your mojo cooking. But still try replying to more normal users for a mouth or so. see if the bitching dies down.

On a side note, I think most people realize your hatred for a company like EA directly correlates with how you score their games. I mean, you played BF3's multiplayer for less than 2 hours when you posted your review.
I'm not so naive as to think Activision would pay people for reviews, but I do think you display a lack of professionalism when you review a multiplayer focused game in the manner in which you did. Reading the review it was obvious you were going to downgrade the score of the game because of EA and more specifically Battlelog. When you base your score on outside factors like that I think you disrespect your craft.
All opinions are biased, every PS3 fanboy who bitches about an exclusive getting a perfect score has a bias thinking that all PS3 exclusives are superior. And going off of your review of Mario Kart 7 Jim it was a bias review because it was based off of your opinion of Mario Kart 7.
Gamers need to realise that bias is someones personal opinion and that there are many factors going into everones opinion and the only time you should call someone out on a review is if you have actual proof that they are being paid off my Activision or something instead of yourselves being the bias piece of shit that you so readily accuse reviewers of being.
