Aksys Games is celebrating a win in the recent Nintendo Power Awards in the category of "Best Story" for Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors. Generally, when something like this happens, we get sent a press release from the company boasting about their accolades. And often these press releases are ignored in favor of things which are, well, actual news.

This more than anything (for whatever reason) has made me wish I had the spare money to buy this game. Nay not even accolades from my favorite game site can beat this kind of marketing. Brilliant.

999 is a fantastic game, and deserved this reward in spades.
I must also thank Nintendo Power, their initial review of the game was what actually informed me of it's existence. And after reading that review, I promptly went out to purchase the game.
I was not disappointed. Fantastic game.
To those without the game, and wanting a taste of it. It's in Gamestop's Power Saver sale for $25 new. Go pick it up.
@Tony Ponce: Thank you! Your review is one of my favorites, and not just because it's positive, although I'll admit that helps a lot. I would have name-checked you personally in the press release, but I could be bothered to any fact-checking. All this caviar won't eat itself, you know!
@Time and a Half: Gregory is a good guess but (assuming you're referring to the rotund gentleman in the film) my name is actually Ben. I would have also accepted "Stewart," which is my middle name.
Also, I've been playing 999 and it's an excellent game. That the nearest store with a copy of the game 3 months after release was 50km away from my house was pretty annoying though.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

Anyway, this game and the staff behind it entertain and amuse me to no end.
Congrats to them.
