Pre-purchasing Trine 2 gets you early PC beta access
I have a good feeling about Trine 2. It's been on my radar ever since the initial screenshots went public, largely thanks to the remarkable use of color. Many of the images could even make for decent desktop wallpapers. On Steam, the game's pre-purchase switch has been flipped. Paying early results in access to the two-level PC multiplayer beta, and it's also worth mentioning that Trine 2 is a Steam Play title, meaning your $14.99 gets you the game on Mac and PC. Love it. Additional pre-order opportunities, including those for a European retail edition, are expected to open soon. December is sounding like the big month, although Frozenbyte ideally wants to put out all versions -- Windows, Mac, Xbox Live Arcade, and PlayStation Network -- simultaneously. That could be tricky. [Thanks, Paul] Did you know? You can now get daily or weekly email notifications when humans reply to your comments.
Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)Nice, I really liked the first one except the shady controls / physics. I was always falling when I shouldn't have or moving in weird directions. I still beat it and loved it though, here's hoping they tighten up movement for the sequel. The first game was an absolute diamond, and this one is shaping up to be more of the (glorious) same. Thanks for the heads up! Just preordered it and played through the single player portion of the beta, and it definitely feels like Trine. One major difference is that mana has been removed, which I think is for the better. And it really is as gorgeous as the trailers make it out to be. It ran great with all settings maxed @ 2048x1152 (weird native resolution, I know) on a GTX 260. Fuck Macs. I'd sooner stop using computers entirely than buy a horrible Apple product, yet I still get stuck with the fucking Mac versions of Civ4 in my Steam library. Fuck Macs and fuck Steam Play games. The first one was great (on the PC, didn't play it on PS3). I'll definitely get the second one as well, but I would prefer if they could code it to work on the Vita too.
