Activision’s Tony Hawk franchise was already in decline by the time the original Skate came out back in 2007, but EA Black Box’s analog stick control scheme and focus on realism accelerated Tony Hawk’s descent into obsolescence. EA is working on the second sequel to that game, Skate 3, and it’s due out for PS3 and 360 this May, less than a year and a half after the release of Skate 2.
Back when EA announced Skate 3, they offered up a pre-order bonus: the Black Box Distribution Skate Park (it’s apparently a real place). Now we’ve got some video footage of the in-game location; check it out above! It looks pretty rad. (Yeah, I’m hip with that skater lingo!) You can head to the game’s official Web site for all the pre-order options available to you.

Oh Tony Hawk, I won't be your friend because the pre-requisite is to play your piece of shit game. Skate is the new Tony Hawk, whether or not he wants to admit it.
The only reason I still have the Skate and Skate 2 demos is because they're so broken that you can do some of the most messed up glitches in the history of gaming in them. I can't wait to see if a Skate 3 demo comes out.
I've played a lot of skate and skate 2, No doubt I will be buying this... The Skate games are addictive the way Tony Hawk one's used to be... so fresh.
Eh... I love the first Skate... love Skate 2 as well, but I am wondering what exactly is much better, different, or just worth getting this. I just want a way better city (Skate 2's city was terrible) and some tuning done to the physics. It just needs to be a little less floaty. Just a little more gravity would be nice.
I will be excited for this when I see some content and tweaks that appear to be worth 60 bucks. So far what I've seen isn't much different than Skate 2. Show me what I should be excited about, because I WANT to be excited about this game.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
His Gamertag is all over the Internet. Not saying I promote Internet harassment but, ya know.
