Pre-order Prototype, get exclusive stuff photo

Activision’s Prototype is looking sick in all the right ways -- you can run up buildings, rip mutant dog flesh with wicked claws, and even decapitate zombies with helicopter blades. We understand if you’re too hot for the title to wait for our review. So, if you’re thinking about grabbing the game on launch day, you may want to consider some of these pre-order details Activision announced this afternoon.

According to a press release we received, the big three retailers will all have a special -- and of course “exclusive” -- pre-order offer. If you reserve the Prototype from Gamecrazy, you’ll get a “Limited Edition Hard Back Art Concept Book” At Amazon, can you grab a “Limited Edition Prototype Comic” from Wild Storm. But the best deal, obviously, is with GameStop. If you pre-order there, you’ll get an Alex Mercer action figure and a 2-sided “Critical Hints Location Map/Poster.”

You can hit the break for some cold, hard details. The GameStop map is said to give “players a tremendous tactical advantage.” A boy can only hope that it lists the locations of every helicopter in the city. Zombie heads must roll.

Also the comic > the figure.

The Gamestop map certainly sounds like the best deal, but I give it a day before scans of the map show up all over the place.

I do wonder what will be on the map. Are these "critical hints" actual collectables? Wording is kind of vague.

Rejoice! This is all stuff I don't want. Now I can wait and buy it when it's 19.99 on Steam.

Nuts. A hardcover art book would be nice, but Gamestop's my most convenient retailer...next to Amazon.

How big is this action figure? I remember thinking I was getting a sweet Altair figure when buying the assassin's creed special edition only to be disappointed when I opened that massive box to find a tiny two inch figure. Now I know how my girlfriend feels *rimshot*.

let's see. the artbook and the comic can be downloaded off the 'net but the figure and the poster that i'd hang on my wall are something that's only really physical...

i guess i could print out a scan of the poster, but that'd cost more in ink than a 5 dollar bill down on a game that's going towards the total purchase of the game... Gamestop it is.. for me.

The New york Comic con consensus= Its spiderman 2, except they cut spiderman out and put this new protagonist and a darkness filter over the camera.

If they're trying to bribe us with junk to preorder their game then the game must be good...right?

NECA player select? I can imagine grabbing some of those video game figurines from the next Comic-con. Plus that Alex figurine looks really bleh. Carmine was so much cooler. The art book offer does look appealing though. If they release it on a pdf file however, forget about it.

Dumb. I hate it when they do the pre-orders by location rather than just a single CE version. Hated it with LBP, hate it with this. Of course, Amazon's is the lamest of all, which really pisses me off.

I dislike preorders as much as it is- I don't have a constant flow of money and buy games when I have a surplus, so when I can't get goodies because of that, it get's me pissed- this is just stupid. At least it's not as bad as the starcraft shit, right? Ah well, hopefully they'll be on ebay for only a few bucks markup. those persona 4 artbooks still are.
