Pre-order Madden NFL 10 with GameStop, get exclusive demo photo

GameStop has just announced that pre-ordering Madden NFL 10 for the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 will net its  customers an exclusive demo of the title. The demo will features four five-minute quarters, with the Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers as the playable teams. Codes for the pre-order demo will hit stores by July 15, and the demo is slated to go live by the end of July.

Not surprisingly, Electronic Art’s Madden NFL is one of GameStop’s biggest seller, year after year. The pre-order hype for the games usually starts only months after the last edition is released, and usually involves streamers, employees wearing football jerseys, and mock in-store football fields. While the push usually results is high pre-order sales, over the past few years customers have come to grips with the fact that the retailer will get a bajillion copies of the game on launch day regardless. There’s just no immediacy.

With this pre-order offer, I have a feeling that’s about to change, and GameStop will see the biggest Madden NFL pre-orders they’ve seen in years. Prepare yourselves, GameStop employees -- it's going to be a hectic summer.

I really dislike when companies use demos as a pre-order bonus.

Both of you need to STFU really, it's been done by other companies why not by EA. You're gonna buy the game anyway, ITS NOT AN EXTRA CHARGE.

@SunOfAtom

How do you know they're going to buy the game? Maybe they'd like to try it out first before they decide. If only they had a demo to play... That's why it's stupid.

Have to agree, I won't preorder it for a demo. That's just retarded. Demos are to demo the game, not rocket science. You preorder for bonuses.

I think they're doing it because their not to confident in the game. So they only want to let the I'm not going to think before I buy crowd have it.

You either like football or you don't. Football fans buy Madden.

@sunofatom

This really isn't about football or EA. I said "I really dislike when companies use demos as a preorder bonus" including all companies that do it.

A demo is a tool for me to see if I want to buy a game, not an extra treat I get for being an obedient customer.

Don't be a douche.

You know you will get to play a shorter version (1 quarter) of the demo in Xbox Live and PSN. That's all I'm saying. Getting a full 20mins of the game for preordering is nice tho. I apologize for sounding like a douche.

Ok guys here's the bottom line. Even if you want to just try it out you can pre-order it for 5 bucks. And what's the worse that can happen, you don't like it, cancel your order and get your 5 bucks back. Madden is a proven franchise and it's only getting better. So the demo goes officially live in late July, and I can access it July 15 for 5 bucks. I myself am going to do it and I'm not even getting the game from Gamestop. E...A.. SPORTS...It's in the game!!!
