Pre-order Lips, get free DLC photo

If your'e looking to, uh, light up your next karaoke party, you might want to consider pre-ordering Microsoft's Xbox 360 sing-a-thon title, Lips.

Both Amazon and Gamestop are offering up a pre-order code for one free music download every week for two months after the game's release (pull out a calculator ... that's eight songs). The songs will be downloaded via the Zune Marketplace, which means you might actually have to bite the bullet and sign up for the service ... even if you don't have a Zune.

The pre-order listings don't specify what the free tracks will be, but it's noted that they will be chosen by "the Zune team," whatever in the hell that means. But it doesn't really matter what they are; at the end of the day, no one will be happy, and everyone will find something to whine about.

I really want all eight tracks to be off of American Idol hopeful David Archuleta's debut album.

That's a hilariously awesome header image.

Microsoft is trying so hard to hit that casual audience. Why waste money on a demographic you just can't win with?

Compared to the Wii, you have next to no install base (within that demo), your price point is higher on virtually everything, you don't have nearly the "casual recognition"...

It's like McDonald's trying to serve $50 aged steaks. Your regulars aren't going to buy them on a whim, and nobody is stupid enough to trust a steak from McDonald's.

The best part is that it's an actual lyric.

This is not the first time I've unintentionally chosen an awesome header image. I should get a raise.

And uh, when I say "Duffy," I mean the singer pictured above... not DJ Duffy.

But while I'm at it, Mmm... DJ Duffy.
