Pre-order Just Cause 2, get a hovercraft and more photo

By pre-ordering Just Cause 2 at Amazon, GameStop, Target, or Wal-Mart -- The Man would rather I say "participating retails," but screw him -- you can get a whole mess of goodies, including a hovercraft. A hovercraft!

Avalanche Studios has got the full list with pictures and descriptions right here. For the lazy (more power to you), the five items are Rico’s Signature Gun, Bull’s Eye Assault Rifle, the Chevalier Classic, a Chaos Parachute, and the Agency Hovercraft.

These are all usable in-game, and will be available for download on launch, which means your pre-order will net you a download key, most likely. Note: this fun stuff is for North America only. As far as I can tell, pre-order bonuses for other regions haven't been divulged yet.

Or you could just give it to us for buying the game...

I don't get pre-order deals.

I would have thought pre-order deals were pretty self-explanatory. Large retail stores pay game developers money to create "exclusive content" for that store. This is how big box stores make sure you buy the game from them instead of a smaller mom and pop outfit.

"Note: this fun stuff is for North America only. As far as I can tell, pre-order bonuses for other regions haven't been divulged yet." looked at it all various UK retailers are listed, and spaces for other EU ones, looks like all regions get the same kind of deal

Maybe I should have said I don't get why there isn't more anger toward pre-order deals. Nobody is ever pissed about this. I hate pre-ordering games because I don't like spending money on something I don't know will be good. Sure, Just Cause 2 looks awesome, but so did Just Cause 1. There is really no good reason to pre-order the game other than the little goodies you receive for doing so. I only buy games from big stores anyway, so they wouldn't lose my sale by not doing this. It just seems really underhanded to me.

Generally speaking, I don't pre-order a game unless there is physical swag up for grabs, like Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. Or there is a monetarial discount; Steam ftw!

Reminds me of the hovercraft in DKC3.

Not that I'm getting this but, PUT THIS SHIT IN THE GAME FUCKTARDS!!!

Available for download on launch? WTF!

I hate what the video game industry is leading to...it'll be the day I give em the middle finger and just end up buying more books than I usually do.

I like the preorder idea to help combat piracy. It's an interesting way to entice those who would be apt to pirate or purchase pre-owned. I don't like that I can only get one, I don't like that at all.

Except when the game is pirated, the preorder bonus type stuff is pirated right along with it, if anyone cares about it. I think your second point is what it's all about- discouraging rentals, and perhaps encouraging people to buy it before any reviews come out, both of which are far less noble.

In-game pre-order bonuses continue to be bullshit.
