Pre-order Dragon Age: Origins and get two in-game items photo

GameStop is offering in-game item bonuses with pre-orders for Dragon Age: Origins.

According to GameStop’s official Web site, people who pre-order the upcoming BioWare RPG will receive two in-game items: The Memory Ring and The Feral Wolf Charm. The ring, as it’s described, will net players experience points bonuses. The charm -- considered a GameStop exclusive -- will give armor a statistical boost and increase health regeneration.

It is not known if the items will be useful for the entirety of the game.

The Memory Ring and The Feral Wolf Charm will be made available for online and in-store, oily-skinned and near-sighted customers when the game ships in November this year. The items will also be available across every platform: Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Neat.

Nuts. I was hoping to go for a Steam version (didn't EA have some kind of release deal with Steam), if there was one. Ah well.

These retailer-exclusive deals are beyond annoying. This kind of shit is only driving me farther away from GameStop.

And I'm always left to wonder...what do people outside of AMERICA DO TO GET THESE ITEMS...

Meh, the exp increase I can do without and the stat boost charm can most likely be replaced by a better charm in-game.

I'll be playing this on the PC. I'm sure these items will be hacked in in about five seconds.

Is anyone else as totally unexcited about this game as I am? It just looks ridiculously generic, especially coming from Bioware.

I'll play it, but I'm right there with you, Phantom Spaceman. It looks pretty bad, honestly.

True, the game does look generic. But it's generically bloody and violent!

I hate it when games do that. People who don't preorder are stuck with a lesser version of the game. I really hope this equipment is nothing major, just a small boost.

There probably just midly more powerful that the last story driven items so people can say "Hey I pre ordered! I'm better than you!"

@Phantom
Finally! Someone who agrees with me that it's generic. After playing it, it even furthered my woes that it was generic, but, I actually really did enjoy the gameplay.
