Pre-E3 09: What's the trash/Rabbids Go Home connection? photo

We admit, when we first saw this little exhibit being put together outside the doors of Los Angeles Convention Center’s South Hall, we thought it was Katamari-related. Honestly, it just looks like a bunch of junk -- everything from stuffed animals to an iMac to trash cans -- being piled up.

Further investigation reveals that it’s some sort of installation piece for Ubisoft’s upcoming Wii title, Rabbids Go Home. What does it have to do with the game? According to the game’s trailer, it sounds like the Rabbids are collecting stuff -- everything and anything, in fact -- to build a fort (or... something) to the Moon.

We’d imagine our confusion will be cleared up this week, when we get our hands on the game at E3. We’re also not sure if what Los Angeles needs is a pile of trash sitting on the sidewalk, but far be it from us to question Ubisoft’s marketing department.

According to IGN's previews, Rabbids Go Home focuses on the psycho-bunnies collecting enough junk to reach the moon. You zip around on a Rabbid- powered shopping cart, knocking over stuff to throw into a toilet to record your progress. Much like Katamari, anything can be picked up, including people and their clothing.

I hope they post security, otherwise we will see all these wonderful items being pushed around in shopping carts by the homeless is 24 hours.

I immediately thought of the infamous Grim Heaper from The World Ends With You.

Reminds me of that PSN puzzle game where you stack trash and burn it.

The Rabbids are in a stupor from playing too many mini-game collections. They snap out of it, though, thanks to a full moon. The critters decide to go home, but they do not know where that necessarily is. Thus, they choose the moon.

My guess is this is why they hired the midgets to work at E3! They will probably dress up like Rabbids and run Amok, which is what the ad called for.
Should be funny!

Wow, I never even thought about Minamimoto from WEWY.
"Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally!"

@Chronic Logic:
I suppose considering the Rabbids voices that it would be the Tower of Babble, but yes.
