A trailer for the freshly announced Nier has just appeared on Youtube and I really, really, really bloody want it, thanks! The name appeared as part of Square Enix's lineup yesterday and we had no idea what it could be, outside of a possible tribute to our very own site founder. Now we know what it is -- a brutal, bloody, hack n' slash action game that makes my little acorn winkie turn hard and dribble out a little bit of stuff.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer and let us know what you think. You already know what I think. The testicles, they are shockingly tight right now, my friends.

Meet the rest of the team
hope it plays better then Sacred 2, since I hear there's a load of bugs in it, and of course hope that it has at least 4 player co-op ( preferable locally even like the Dungeons & Dragons game on the old xbox )...
I've been dreaming of a decent Gauntlet follow up since that game...
It looks somewhat interesting, although it also looks like that guy is hacking and slashing "shadow enemies" or something of that sort. Apparently, shadows bleed.
The comments seem pretty typical. Bitch about Squeenix doing the same thing over and over...then they show something different and it gets shit all over.
I didn't see a bit of adrogyny, and the main character looks to be light on belts/buckles.
Squenix making dat mooney! They're also publishing Supreme Commander 2. If they stop making shitty JRPGs, and just make the FF7 remake already, they'll be rolling in the money.
As for this game?
DBVII, dude, they're saying it looks fairly generic for an action title: and it DOES! As an action-whore who owns almost every generic, and shitty action game, this looks less interesting than Nanobreaker! Will I buy it, and will it be a solid action game? Yes. Does it look generic under any standards? Yes. Should it be held in a higher regard simply because "it's Square?" Hell no.
I dunno, it looks kind of DMC-ish. But all I saw was hacking and slashing, no wall running, crazy super jumping. Didn't even see any interesting crazy looking combos. Alternate weapons?
Did anyone else notice that at the very end, when the game's title appears, and it shows the system's logos below that, that the Playstation 3 logo was a "PS3" just like on the rumored PS3 Slim?
Looks like Zombie games aren't the only things being made en-mass these days. I swear I've seen so many Hack-N'-Slash games recently. Looks like they're looking to dethrone FPS as the most produced genre. Hopefully this will be decent, it's got a shitload of competition.
On a side note.
Square Enix should finish the games they're already making before making new ones it'll just interfere with the release dates of other games like FFXIII & FFXIII Versus.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

I hope this pans out into something better.
Maybe we are getting more than just the PSP go?!
Count me in.
PS: I hope Nier launch date is "nier" the begining of the year.
See what i did there?

Have to be skeptical though. And it's not coming to PC?
*facepalm at joke*
