Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

You know something is up when you go to bed after staying up late into the night to discuss pre-E3 trailers and wake up only to find that there's still a bunch more to be covered. This is going to be one of those days. But enough about me, let's talk Alpha Protocol.

Yes, a new trailer for the game was released by way of GameTrailers TV. How did you know? Since the video is CGI, it is more "here are some things you could do in our game, but we aren't going to show you what any of it actually looks like" than anything else.

Alpha Protocol is an action RPG that tells the story of a government conspiracy, and it's set in 2009; definitely not something you see every day as far as videogames are concerned. Oh, and while we're on the subject, Sega is giving away some nifty spy dossier packs soon. Find more details on that right here.

Despite its consistent technical shortcomings, I've always been pretty stoked for Obsidian's releases. They've been able to build a bunch of great stories, usually on top of tech provided by Bioware and others, which is never a bad thing. That NWN2 Mask of the Betrayer expansion had one of the best stories since Torment, and this game's dialog system looks to be an interesting take on Mass Effect's style.

"I have another trick up my sleeve" I'll save then restart over and over again to get the best option! It's works for Phoenix Wright!

I actually prefer having your alignment choose what options you can choose to do like in Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines. If you're a good person, you have multiple "good" options you can choose from. If you're bad, you have multiple "bad" options you can choose. And the same thing with neutral.

This is like one of my most wanted games, but damn doggs... Was this really the best you could do for a graphics engine? The game is BUTT UGLY. Like damn near Xbox 1 looking quality to it if you know what I mean.

Vampire Bloodlines was freaking ace on all fronts once you get it working. Morality worked, factions worked, alignment...

This is related as Troika and Obsidian are tenuously linked by Interplay. But this is on my 'interested' radar simply for how cheesily/sneakily it tries to say "In this game, there are multiple ways to tackle a problem!".

I like how the grenade was taped to that dudes mouth. Badass. But without gameplay footage I really don't know how I feel about this yet.
