It doesn't matter how many times you'll read the title of this story, the words I'm using simply don't belong together. It's only after you watch the trailer for Excitebots: Trick Racing that it will all become clear, and even then it's a bit baffling.
The Monster Games developed Wii-exclusive looks like it's taking a light and loose approach to the Excite Truck and Exciebike franchise, throwing in crazy power-ups, vehicles that look like animals, and wild tricks. Does it look fun? Sort of. But I'm still stuck on the praying mantis vehicle getting the "super sandwich" power-up to see much of anything else.
The praying matis, the super sandwich, and Excitebots: Trick Racing hits shelves on April 20.
I think the game so far has gotten 4 things right that I want in my racing games: arade style racing, sense of speed, boosting ( even more speed) and big air time. Excitebots as all of them covered.
Who knows, the quirky tricks and environmental obsctacles may prove to be an enjoyable twist in addition to the game's unique concept of not having to get 1st place to win the race.
It's a shame that the game will most likelt be overlooked when its released.
I'm sure a lot of people passed it over, but ExciteTruck was the most fun I've had on the Wii and this looks like the same game, but with crazy robots.
I dunno. It could be too overcrowded with random features that make them all have less of an impact. Football with a car? You all know how annoying that could possibly be.
Excite has never competed with, say, Forza. So I don't mind that this looks ridiculous. The "kart racer" crowd is waaay oversaturated, but I'm guessing this will be one of the best of the bunch to play.
I think time could have been better spent on a Diddy Kong sequel. Also, whats up with Nintendo and there generic *look we are normal everyday people that probably shop at Old Navy* screen shots.

Though, you can't go wrong with sandwich powerups.

And crazy robots make everything better.
DANK YOU SANDVICH.
