Postal III is coming to PC and Xbox 360, have some screens photo

Aaah, the Postal series. At once a paragon of tasteless humor and of gamers collectively banging their heads on desks with disgust, nobody can deny that Running With Scissors' oft-controversial series will always have a place -- however dubious -- in videogame history. So, who's up for a third installment? I know I am. With Uwe Boll's tenuous-at-best adaptation hitting cinema screens, news about Postal III coming to both PC and Xbox 360 couldn't be more apt.

Switching first person shooting for third person, free roaming adventuring, this second sequel sees Postal Dude entering the city of Catharsis, a city that sports eco-terrorists, Uncle Dave's Zealot Nuns (!) and, of course, the Taliban. Promised new weapons include the Harnessed Badger Saw and Chain Scythe, with more to be delivered. If the developers are to be believed, this latest installment won't be just a shoddily pieced together game that relies on toilet humor and terrorists to make a name for itself. Promising a "complex AI" and three moral paths to choose (the good, the bad and the insane) as well as being powered by Valve's Source Engine, Postal III might be trying to become a legitimate videogame in the eyes of the people.

While we wait and see if Postal III can break the series' mold, take a peek at the small selection of screenshots below, and check out Akella's minisite. In the meantime, I'm going to quietly confess that I actually have some hope for this.

Why did they have to make the main character an adult ginger kid? Having to play thru any game as a red head really takes away from the experience for me.

The only game to probably benefit by having a Uwe Boll directed movie.

Am I mistaken, or is he using...a badger as a weapon?

I'm sure I will be blasted for this, but i loved Postal 2. Open world FPS was a new thing, and the weapon set allowed for lots of experimentation and fun. No other game allows you to kick a flaming head into a crowd of people and watch them light up, or destroy a whole town using biological pitbull warfare. I am stoked for the next chapter. Bring on the Beaver!

I don't think anything with a chain scythe (as long as it is what I think it is) can be bad

I loved Postal 2, it had it's flaws, but I had a blast catching cats and using the shotgun.

They had Gary Coleman appearing at the mall for you to gib, and pretty much any time you wanted to, you can whip out your dick and piss on people... causing said people to start puking... causing people around said people people to start puking... all back in 2003!

How can a game that wrong be bad?

Good luck with the esrb. I'm sure they are still high with the Manhunt 2 publicity.

Awesome another postel game with crappy controls, no storyline and pointless gameplay, just now with slightly higher textures. I can't even defend these games. I mean if they were at least good I might, but they're crap of the highest calibur.

I'm glad the graphics are the same as Postal II, the one that was released like 4 years ago.
