"So this is apparently New Duck Hunt that I found in my Dad's desk. He works for Hudson, but this uh, didn't have anything written on it."

So says the voice in the above video, which may or may not be footage of the long-awaited, often cried for Duck Hunt for the Wii. From what you can see from the video, you aim the Wii remote at the screen and you shoot ducks. It's all very exciting, and I can see why people would be so eager to relive such an action-packed classic.

It's hard to say whether this video is legit or not (we're going with "not"), as the Internet has been known to play mind-tricks before. Elaborate hoaxes aren't unheard of, and this very well may be one. Regardless, I can't be the only one who fell asleep while watching this video. It reminds me that while I may have fond childhood memories of this light gun classic, I really have no desire to play it whatsoever.

Looks legitimate enough, albeit boring as all get-out. Question for me is this, though; what's the point of a New Duck Hunt when there's already an excellent psuedo-version of this on Wii Play?

Case closed.

I'm bored.
Just tried to play the original again it a while ago. Because I too had great memories. But the only thing I did was destroying the good memories.

Duck Hunt could be good again but it would have to be insane with ducks that hunt you.

That looks thrilling.

It could be awesome. Could be better than Metroid Prime 3.

It won't be, though. Not unless you can shoot the dog. Then it WILL be.

So they make a new Duck Hunt, but they pretty-much change nothing but the graphics? Even the light-gun sound is the same when you shoot. Something's fishy here...

It would be cool it came out with a ton of other minigames but it's definitely not worth the full price.

To be completely honest, I think that no matter how awesome and interactive the new Duck Hunt is going to be, there is no forgiving the fact that only way it possibly could work was to ship with the Wii. But instead we got all this crazy and cool stuff, so forget it.

Almost definitely fake. Nowhere near enough polish to be a nintendo(or hudson for that matter) title. The lack of any menu whatsoever is kind of telling, as is the fact the animation is awful, the backgrounds are empty and there's almost no gameplay. A decent fake, but I'm far from convinced.

Also, anyone else badmouths duck hunt, and I cut you esse.

Why do these people doing supposed "leaks" make such shitty videos, does no one have a TV tuner card to take some decent direct video with?

Either way, if its got the dog, and if it still mocks me, I'd buy it.

Why is it that no one that's able to "leak" anything owns a camera that's capable of focusing? No leaked camera shots or videos ever appear to be in focus. This kid was in his home. He had plenty of time to sit down, work that focus ring and make it look legit. He didn't. I call fake.

BTW, I am a duck hunt fiend. I want Clay Pidgeon mode back.

Nintendo needs to realize that we want the originals too. I want the original Bionic Commando on the VC over a Wii port of the Adventures of Hot Dog Arm Man.

Same here. I want Duck Hunt on the VC.

The target shooting on Wii Play is really fun, fast paced, and the head to head competition can get pretty competitive. This looks boring as hell in comparison. Just release the original on VC. Although I'm not sure I'd even waste $5 on that.

Considering the only homebrew for the wii at this moment is a diagnostics app. Ill go with this is real, Its obvisouly a demo something the programmers threw together for fun. It may not even be from a sun programmer, just something getting passed around the industry. Do not believe anything.

Thank you, New Duck Hunt for shining a spotlight on one of gaming's little-believed truths: the past of gaming is better remembered than relived, most times. There are some "retro" games that still stand the test of time, but most have not aged well, and maybe weren't that good to begin with. I mean, a lot of us were kids when these "classics" came out, and had no frame of reference at the time as to what a good game could really be. For every Super Mario Bros., there were dozens and dozens of absolutely shitty games. I think the NES had a lower quality rate than the Wii, honestly.

Even Duck Hunt has benefitted. We can all reminisce on the laughing dog and what not, but it was really a boring, boring game.

Rule #1 of making an internet hoax is to throw in a curveball "insider fact" to give credibility. who knows, this could be true or could be completely bogus, but the unlabeled disc on a desk sounds like BS.
