Portal: Still Alive, a mandatory re-evaluation protocol, to hit XBLA next week photo

If you're one of the four people who hasn't played Portal yet (and you own an Xbox 360), next week you'll have your chance. Microsoft has revealed that the standalone Xbox LIVE Arcade title Portal: Still Alive will be hitting the marketplace next Wednesday.

No price has been officially announced, but we'd suggest that you have 1200 MS Points in your account if plan on picking it up. Hint, hint. Also, we'd recommend you have a fair amount of space on your hard drive, say, 629 megs.

Portal: Still Alive will contain all of the levels in the original game, in addition to 14 new challenge maps, and six advanced maps.

Ahh, this just reminded me that Portal Prelude (a free prequel mod) was released. I'll have to go download that right now. Obviously won't be getting the one on XBLA since I have it on PC.

@moocow

But the levels added here are free on the PC.

I seem to recall reading that the new maps were just taken from the Flash version map pack, anyone know if that's true? I already have Portal on the PC, with that map pack, so I'd certainly like to save my $15 if I can.

@entrager, I have heard that some of them are, but I don't know if that's true.

Either way, I'll have to watch and see if this is worth it.

Sold Orange Box, since this was all I wanted.

So I guess I'll be picking this one up.

Paying 1200 points for 14 challenge maps sounds crazy, but if you haven't played the game, it sounds like an OK deal.

I am sooooooo tempted. Anyone know of anything worth my points more than this that isn't CC and Braid?

wtf... challenge maps are lame. I love advanced maps but I think there were only 6 in the original portal and I beat them all and got all the achievements for them on the orange box.

@BlindsideDork

But to those who didn't buy portal or the orange box, DO waste your points, it's vital!

I love Steam and Valve, but I will never, EVER buy any of their products on a console.

Portal is a brilliant game, however on the PC I completed the story within a few hours and the extra levels before I went to bed.

It did leave me wanting more....still waiting (for official content, not modders content bundled thats free on PC).

I'd rather take the prologue that's free on Steam.

No Glados = pointless

You're paying for something you could get for free.

I wish they would release the extra maps as DLC for us Orange Box owners.

You can get the Orange box for about £12 from play or Amazon now.

Sorta makes downloading a fifth of that ace package slightly redundant I reckon.
