It's no surprise that people are pumped for the release of Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, being as they are a pair of remakes for what is considered the best generation of the entire franchise. There is also a porcupine with fire on its back, which automatically makes it worthy of attention.
We have a new video trailer, and artwork of the classic three starter Pokémon: Cynadquil, Totodile and Chikorita. There are also a couple of logos thrown in, just in case you're feeling particularly insatiable this morning.
These remakes are looking pretty damn slick and I think I'll definitely be picking one of them up. Will you be doing the same, and if so, which one? Gold or Silver? YOU MUST MAKE A DECISION!

I was always a gold player, but now i might just have to switch to silver. In gold I always went as soon as i could to go get that lvl 70 Lugia locked away in that cave. Lugia is obviously supreme.
Loved Silver back in the day. But man does that Pokemon formula need to change. It's pretty, but I'm tired of the same games over and over...and this is literally the same game over!
I've always felt more attached to the Silver version than the Gold version. Also, Lugia looks like a dragon and dragons are cool. Ho-Oh? That's not even a cool name to say.
If Jim liked Red then he'll probably like Gold, as that's the "successor" I guess you could say. The exclusives from it are the same as Red in the 1-151 range.
But I'm going Silver. As many others have said. Especially that guy that said Silver + Cyndaquil + Lugia. I want to do whoever said that.
Silver for me because Everything about Lugia was epic and is still memorable for me now. Something about going up a waterfall in a cave to fight a giant bird/dragon thing just stays with you forever.
On the other hand if the exclusives are the same as the original I may consider gold. Because Ursaring was awesome and I remember never getting him because all my friends also had silver. (facepalm)
Silver, because I always try to predict which will be less popular and get that one, so I have access to slightly more valuable Pokémon. It doesn't make a huge difference.
Back in the day I had Gold, and as far as I remember you could still get Lugia but at a lower level. My young mind decided that because I was training him longer he would be way more the awesome in the long run.
I'm getting both eventually but I think I have to start with Gold because getting Ho-Oh is so much easier in this game than playing Pokemon Colosseum. Colosseum is, in my opinion, the WORST Pokemon game ever made. Yes, even worst than Pokemon Channel.
This'll be fun. I'm a huge Pokemon fan but I never played the GSC generation. I kind of regret it but now I can finally play them.
I would go with "Soul", as that is higher than "Heart" to me (and Lugia's leader of the RBY/RGBY birds), but goin' Gold. It's the Red-side game (though I did go with LeafGreen), its logo is more symbolic-looking, and Chikorita contrasts well with the color. Or something. I actually side with third-wheel games (Yellow was my first), but there's no "MindCrystal" or anything...
Oh god the nostalgia, gold was my favorite of the pokemon games. I was still young enough to enjoy them without the deep feelings of shame associated with ruby and firered and diamond =(
Gold all the way, nuckas. It's GOLD. Silver = 2nd place. Lugia got his tailfeathers handed to him in that effluence of a movie anyways.
One thing I really wish they would update in these remakes are the Pokemon;s sounds. What's it been like 15 years since the first game came out? Come on get some higher quality sound effects meng.
I played Blue, Crystal, Ruby, Fire Red and Diamond. That being said I really want to wait for the remake of Crystal, as that is my favorite game in the series so far (I echo Trebz sentiment, Suicune is the greatest legendary pokemon of all time). However, given that Yellow never got remade, I might just cave and pick up Soul Silver.
I owned Gold for the GBC, so I think I might choose Silver this time just to get a slightly new experience. Or I could choose Gold again for the nostalgia... Also, in Silver you can get Lugia at level 40, wich gives me an extra 30 levels for me to train him properly.
On the other hand... Everything seems to point towards Gold being the less popular version, wich could mean that the exclusive Pokemons in that game will be more valuable.

But really, Lugia FTW. I was a Silver player the first time around, and I'm sticking to it.
and fuck legendaries, srsly.
Put Pikachu at the top of your party and succeed!

Ho-oh is awesome because it is a phoenix. Lugia sucks - I still remember beating my friends Lugia with my Feraligator.
This movie with the English logos makes me dream of a surprised release this year, even though I know it would never happen. :(

Seriously though, as long as I can get myself a Cloyster I'm happy.
So yeah Lugia>Ho-oh, but I'm a Gold kinda guy.
This'll be fun. I'm a huge Pokemon fan but I never played the GSC generation. I kind of regret it but now I can finally play them.
I'm playing a frigging Pokemon game, the name isn't going to make that any less of a social pothole.
I actually had an import copy of Gold that I got free from some website back in the day long before it came out here.
I wish they'd make me a damn Pokemon Snap remake already (even better, make it for DS).
Gold all the way, nuckas. It's GOLD. Silver = 2nd place. Lugia got his tailfeathers handed to him in that effluence of a movie anyways.
Lugia is a loser
LMAO

All of the features that were in Crytal make a return, even the Suicune fight, I've seen screenshots.
Don't judge me :(
