Much to the delight of Japanese kids everywhere, a new trailer for Pokemon Black/White appeared on the TV show Oha Suta. And now, the footage is on the Internet. Hooray!
In it, we're shown three on three battles, a handful of new Pokemon -- the sarcophagus-looking dude is so absurd I can't help but love it -- and some stuff I'm not even going to attempt to understand. As per usual, Serebii.net has screencaps and follow-up info. I don't know how those guys do it. Really, I don't.
On a related note, make sure to download the new mystery gift, Jirachi, from Nintendo WFC. We didn't do a proper post on it this weekend, so don't miss out!
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Meet the rest of the team
I'm not sure if I like the new look. It's good that they're finally animating Pokemon (even if it's just a bit) and the new camera angles look good, but the 3d graphics look too blocky. I know that's because of the DS but still.
The most annoying thing for me is that the battles still DON'T HAVE PROPER FUCKING BACKGROUNDS!. This would probably be a very simple thing to do, and it's something Game Freak should have started doing on the GBA. It just seems so lazy to draw some random lines and call it a background.
Every time I see a news piece about the new Pokemon, my eyes instinctively are drawn to the words "Black / White" and I get all giddy cause I assume Black & White 3 has been announced.
Well, I'm glad the Pokeymanz are now animated, and 3vs3 battles are pretty cool. I'll definitely play it, I just hope it is good enough for me to finish it.
SARKOFFFING! Well at least i hope that's his name. Also I am so stoked for the online stuff like you wouldn't believe. It's sounding MMO like in a way.
And 3v3 Battling? Man that's crazy son. Just. Pure. Crazy.
Oh God, I swear I saw another Nosepass in there. Also, I already hated 2 on 2 battles. Why would I want EVEN MORE POKEMON AT ONCE? Half my team at the same time? Really?
I'm also disappointed that this isn't going to be a 3DS game, but otherwise, I can't wait for it. I don't think I'll ever get tired of collecting badges every few years, or so.
I don't really care about the look of these "new" Pokémons since some were created since the beginning of Pokémon. Anyways, I'm fine with the 3 vs 3 Pokémon. I just hope there's more of it. I only added 2 double-battle type enemies into my Pokégear in HeartGold/SoulSilver.
Am I the only one who thinks this looks like crap?
Why go completely 3D if it's going to look like balls? And I'll bet you just about anything that making the towns into that awkward-looking 3D style will make them harder to navigate and far more annoying in general.
Also, an expanded 2v2 battle system would be better than simply going 3v3. Any pokemon with a "Hits all opponents" type of move will be broken, and they'd be morons to change the movesets of existing pokemon so drastically as do something about it.
Basically that trailer just looked ugly, confusing, and boring at the same time.
Did anyone else notice the shooter feature on the battle menu? It looks interesting, though it might just be to throw pokeballs. Also the sarcophagus looks so out of place that I want it for it's randomness along with the drill mole, maybe I'll call him Monty. Alas that he can't be by my side so that we may run in game.
after playing hg&ss this looks like complete shit. i wish they would just make a completely 3d game with battles that look like pokemon stadium. is that too much to ask? some n64 graphics maybe?
To all you guys complaining about how the game looks, remember that this is a DS game. In other words while it may look horrendous now, that's because the resolution is completely stretched and fucked up beyond belief, and will probably look much better on the smaller screen of a DS
I hope the new Pokemon don't look silly. Or at least, I hope most of them don't look silly. Okay, fine, I'll settle for the starters to evolve into something that doesn't look silly. I miss the Charizard days.
HG/SS was an ugly little train wreck, so I hope this comes sooner.
And for their sake, I pray to the God of Skinny Punks that they have lasting graphic effects instead of telling me "It's still raining" with an animation every fucking turn. C'mon, it's 2010...

That said, the rest of looks good for a Pokemon game. I mean, I'm not expecting anything groundbreaking so I'm satisfied.
:(

Shit's about to get intense.
DO EET!!

But the rest are ugly. None of them will be the new Ekans (LOL)

Anywho, if I end up getting it (and I will, because I'm a whore like that), I'll probably get White for that big thunder dragon.
I fear for 3 on 3 battles though. All the smart people will start using pokemon that absorb water attacks, then spam surf with all 3 of them.
